To be able to start this quest you must have Pet Pal talent then you should talk to one of the little chickens or directly to Big Marge.
We encountered a brood of panicking hens who have lost their eggs.

Talk to Big Marge.
According to Big Marge, the hens' eggs were taken by a large, many-limbed beast.
Go to the location of Small Viscous Eggs (lvl 9). You will be attacked by Voidwoken hatchlings. Kill them all.
We found some chicken eggs - they have been tainted. Voidwoken hatchlings have emerged from them.
A little further you will find a small, unaffected egg - Peeper (Egg). Take it.
One of the eggs seems to have been unaffected. We picked it up.
Go back to Big Marge and hand her the egg you found. She will reward you with the location of a treasure hidden behind the coop.
We returned the surviving egg to a brood of hens. Perhaps we can check on its condition later.
It's an egg so you can eat it :-) Not recommended :P

A voidling chick has hatched from the egg. It doesn't appear to be hostile towards us.
Talk to Peeper.
The voidling chick is following us around. It seems to think that one of us is its mother.
Cast Spirit Vision so you will be able to see Spirit of Big Marge then ask her about Peeper's father.
We learned that the chick's father, a 'special' rooster, might be able to help the chick.
Select the character with Pet Pal talent and talk to Magicockerel. Peeper must be close by. Tell him it's his son and then select ...
*Wink and say that you'll 'take care' of Peeper.*
The result will be ...
We brought the voidling chick to its father. He told us that it was an abomination, and must die. We killed the chick, and the rooster rewarded us.

When the quest is completed, the chest will appear. Do not forget to loot it.
