This mission can be unlocked by following the "Talk to the scientist by the Tree" activity. Such an entry should appear in your journal soon after you arrive to MAST District of New Atlantis located on Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system.
Kelton Frush
New Atlantis
Talk to the scientist standing by a large tree. He will ask you for help in collecting data.
A scientist in New Atlantis named Kelton Frush has asked me to assist him in his research. I need to collect sensors scattered around the city and bring them to him so he can analyze their recordings.
Head to the marked locations. In three of them you will find sensors.
In the fourth place you will not find a sensor, but a kid with whom you can talk.
Talk to him and you will learn that he found the sensor and sold it to a certain person.
Head to UC Distribution and talk to Wen Tseng and ask her about "an egg". You can buy the sensor back from her, it will only cost 100 credits.
Optionally, you can steal the sensor. You will find it on a desk in a room a few steps away. Do it when there is no guard in the room.
I've found all of the sensors Kelton asked me to acquire. I need to deliver them to him.
Return to Kelton to give him all the sensors you found. You will find him where he was before.
I've delivered the sensors to Kelton, and need to wait while he analyzes the data.
Just wait a while for Kelton to analyze the sensor data and then talk to him again. This will conclude the mission and you will receive the reward for completing it - XP and Credits.
Kelton analyzed the findings and found that he was right - there's something wrong with the tree, and the consequences could be disastrous. I should check in with him later after he brings up his findings to MAST.
Your mission log will be updated with a new activity - "Check in on Kelton later". After about one day in the game, this activity will change to "Speak with Kelton Frush" - You will then be able to talk to him again and start another mission - "Out On a Limb".
After completing this mission, you will be able to play the mission Out On a Limb.
