Main Missions

A list of missions that are the main storyline of the game.

One Small Step

This is the first mission you will receive as soon as you start a new game. The year is 2330 and you start as a recruit for Argos Extractors on Vectera, the moon of the planet Anselon in Narion System.

The Old Neighborhood

This mission is the second main mission in Starfield. It will appear in your journal after completing the mission "One Small Step".

Into the Unknown

This is one of the three main missions that you will be able to play after completing the main mission "The Old Neighborhood".

Back to Vectera

This is one of the three main missions that you will be able to play after completing the main mission "The Old Neighborhood".

The Empty Nest

This is one of the three main missions that you will be able to play after completing the main mission "The Old Neighborhood".

All That Money Can Buy

You will receive this mission when you complete all three previous main missions: "Into the Unknown", "Back to Vectera" and "The Empty Nest". Walter Stroud will want to talk to you.

Starborn

This mission starts immediately after you take off from Neon, that is, right after completing the mission "All That Money Can Buy". You are intercepted by a strange ship that demands that you hand over to them the artifact you just acquired.

Further Into the Unknown

You will receive this mission automatically as soon as you complete the previous main mission that is "Starborn".

Short Sighted

You will receive this mission automatically as soon as you complete the previous main mission that is "Further Into the Unknown".

No Sudden Moves

You will receive this mission automatically as soon as you complete the previous main mission that is "Short Sighted".

High Price to Pay

This mission starts automatically after completing the main mission "No Sudden Moves" that is, right after you return to the Lodge and place the artifact next to the others.

Unity

This main mission starts automatically after completing the previous one, which is "High Price to Pay". Matteo will suggest what your next step should be.

In Their Footsteps

This mission begins immediately after entering the orbit of the planet Oborum III at the end of the main mission "Unity". In orbit you will meet the Hunter, which this time has peaceful intentions, as he wants to talk to you and will invite you aboard his ship.

Unearthed

You receive this mission as a result of the conversation that takes place at the end of the quest "In Their Footsteps". The Emissary suggests you to visit the moon base located on Earth's moon. He also gives you a key that will allow you to enter it.

Final Glimpses

You will receive this mission automatically as soon as you complete the previous main mission that is "In Their Footsteps".

Entangled

This mission begins automatically as soon as you receive the distress signal from the satellite at the end of mission "Final Glimpses". You must complete this mission to also complete the mission "Final Glimpses".

Missed Beyond Measure

You will receive this mission from Noel right after you enter the Lodge when you do the "Final Glimpses" mission.

Revelation

To start this mission you must complete the missions "Unearthed" and "Final Glimpses".

One Giant Leap

This is the last main mission in Starfield, which starts after completing the mission "Revelation". After its completion, the NG+ will be started.

Supra et Ultra

Faction: United Colonies. You can start this mission when you speak with Commander John Tuala during the main mission "The Old Neighborhood".

Grunt Work

Faction: United Colonies. This is your first probationary mission, assigned to you by Commander Tuala after you join Vanguard, that is, after you complete the "Supra et Ultra" mission.

Delivering Devils

Faction: United Colonies. This mission will start automatically after you complete the mission "Grunt Work".

Eyewitness

Faction: United Colonies. This mission starts automatically after completing the "Delivering Devils" mission.

Friends Like These

Faction: United Colonies. This mission starts automatically after completing the "Eyewitness" mission.

The Devils You Know

Faction: United Colonies. You can start this mission immediately after completing the mission "Friends Like These" or at any later time.

War Relics

Faction: United Colonies. This mission starts automatically after completing the mission "The Devils You Know" at the end of which Vae Victis fulfilled his promise and provided you with information about the research team members.

Hostile Intelligence

Faction: United Colonies. This mission starts automatically after you and Kaiser return to Red Devils HQ, which happens at the end of the "War Relics" mission.

A Legacy Forged

Faction: United Colonies. This mission starts automatically after completing the "Hostile Intelligence" mission.

Vanguard: Bug Hunt

Faction: United Colonies. This is one of the repeatable missions you can get after completing the mission "A Legacy Forged". To start it, talk to Commander John Tuala whom you will find in MAST Building in New Atlantis and select "I want to clean up some Terrormorphs".

Vanguard: Safer Skies

Faction: United Colonies. This is one of the repeatable missions you can get after completing the mission "A Legacy Forged". To start it, talk to Commander John Tuala whom you will find in MAST Building in New Atlantis and select "I'd like to run a mission for the Vanguard".

Apex Predator

Faction: United Colonies. This is one of the repeatable missions you can get after completing the mission "A Legacy Forged". To start it, talk to Percival whom you will find in the TMD Headquarters located on Mars.

Preventive Action

Faction: United Colonies. You can get this repeatable mission only after lying to Hadrian and the Cabinet about Vae Victis' involvement in the Terrormorph attacks during "A Legacy Forged" mission. To start this mission talk to Vae Victis in his cell on the Subsection Seven floor of the MAST Building.

Job Gone Wrong

Faction: Freestar Collective. You will receive this mission automatically when playin the main mission "The Empty Nest". The guard at the gate will inform you about the problem that has arisen.

Deputized

Faction: Freestar Collective. You will receive this mission when you resolve the problem at GalBank in Akila City, that is, when you complete the mission "Job Gone Wrong".

Where Hope is Built

Faction: Freestar Collective. This mission starts automatically after the conversation with Mikaela Waggoner that takes place at the end of the mission "Deputized". Emma concludes that you should return to Akila City and report what you have discovered to the marshal.

Shadows in Neon

Faction: Freestar Collective. This mission starts automatically when you reach the end of the "Where Hope is Built" mission.

On the Run

Faction: Freestar Collective. This is one of two missions you will receive after completing the "Shadows in Neon" mission. The main goal of this mission will be to find Marco Graziani, one of two high-ranking First members.

Surgical Strike

Faction: Freestar Collective. This is one of two missions you will receive after completing the "Shadows in Neon" mission. The main goal of this mission will be to find Maya Cruz, one of two high-ranking First members.

First to Fight, First to Die

Faction: Freestar Collective. This mission will start automatically when you deliver all the encrypted slates to Alex, that is, after completing the "Surgical Strike" and "On the Run" missions.

The Hammer Falls

Faction: Freestar Collective. This is the last in a series of missions you carry out for the Freestar Collective and it starts automatically after completing the "First to Fight, First to Die" mission. In this mission, a confrontation with the mastermind responsible for what happened takes place.

Back to the Grind

Faction: Ryujin Industries. You should automatically receive this mission soon after you enter the city of Neon on planet Volii Alpha (Volii System). You visit this place when you follow the main mission "All That Money Can Buy".

One Step Ahead

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the first Ryujin mission - "Back to the Grind". Talk to Imogene and you will find out what task she has for you.

A New Narrative

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "One Step Ahead". Talk to Imogene and you will find out what task she has for you this time. You will receive two digipicks and confidential files from her.

Access is Key

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "A New Narrative". Talk to Imogene and you will find out what task she has for you this time.

Sowing Discord

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Access is Key". Talk to Imogene and you will find out what task she has for you this time. She will give you a dossier of the two people you need to talk to, appropriate suit and a fake presentation.

Accidents Happen

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Sowing Discord". Talk to Imogene and you will find out what task she has for you this time. Imogene will give you the ARC Device that you need to plant.

Maintaining the Edge

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Accidents Happen". Talk to Imogene and you will find out what task she has for you this time.

Top Secrets

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Maintaining the Edge". Imogene will inform you that the time has come to meet her boss, that is Ularu Chen.

Background Checks

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Top Secrets". Masako has a suspicion that there is a mole in Ryujin Industries and will task you with finding him.

Guilty Parties

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Background Checks". In this mission you will continue trying to figure out who the mole is and you will face a very important choice.

The Key Ingredient

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Guilty Parties".

Sabotage

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "The Key Ingredient".

Executive Level

Faction: Ryujin Industries. This is the last of the missions performed for Ryujin Industries. In it you will make final decisions to what the future of Infinity LTD and the Dominion project should be. You will also decide, as long as it is still relevant, who should lead the company. At the beginning of the mission, Masako will tell you her expectations and ask you to convince the other board members to realize them.

Deep Cover

Faction: Crimson Fleet. You can start this mission in a couple of ways, depending on what happens first. For example, you can get it from Commander Tuala right after completing the mission "Grunt Work". Another way is to commit a crime, such as stealing an artifact in the main mission "No Sudden Moves" and letting the UC guards capture you.

Burden of Proof

Faction: Crimson Fleet. This mission will appear in your journal after the conversation with Lt. Jillian Toft that takes place during the mission "Deep Cover".

Misc

Keeping the Peace

Faction: United Colonies. To start this mission you should, once you arrive in New Atlantis, go to the UC Security Office (UCSEC) building and talk to Sergeant Yumi who will offer you a job. Accept it.

A Break at Dawn

Faction: United Colonies. You will be able to start this mission some time after completing the mission "Keeping the Peace". When this mission is available then in your mission log in the activity tab you should see the entry "Talk to Sergeant Yumi". So go to him and ask about the job and then he will give you information about the next task.

Search and Seizure

Faction: United Colonies. This mission will become available after you complete the "Eyewitness" mission. Then the activity "Speak to Sergeant Yumi" should pop up in your mission log. You may also need to complete the previous "Misc" missions for the sergeant that is "Keeping the Peace" and "A Break at Dawn".

The Art Dealer

To start this mission talk to Samson Cebrail. You can find him near or in the Jemison Mercantile building in New Atlantis.

Distilling Confidence

This mission can be unlocked by following the "Talk to the Bartender at Viewport" activity. Such an entry should appear in your journal soon after you arrive at New Atlantis located on Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system.

Liquid Assets

To start this mission you need to talk to Nyssa Marcano again some time after you have completed her previous mission which was "Distilling Confidence". You will find her in the same place, which is her bar in the Viewport building in New Atlantis.

Drinks on the House

To start this mission you need to talk to Nyssa Marcano again some time after you have completed her previous mission which was "Liquid Assets". You will find her in the same place, which is her bar in the Viewport building in New Atlantis.

Gem Jealousy

To start this mission you should talk to Guillaume DeGarmo whom you will find in the Terrabrew Cofee. He will ask you for help in making the exchange. You will receive from him and Old-Earth Plate meant for exchange.

Beautiful Secrets

To start this mission you need to talk to Warner Connell at Enhanced!. You will then learn about the loss of a disk with sensitive data that happened to him and you will be asked to help him recover it.

Due in Full

To start this mission you need to talk to Landry Hollifeld who will ask for your help in recovering the debt. You will find him in the GalBank office in New Atlantis.

An Invitation

You will begin this mission when you talk to Marcus Lestari. You will find him near the Sanctum Universum in New Atlantis.

A Tree Grows in New Atlantis

This mission can be unlocked by following the "Talk to the scientist by the Tree" activity. Such an entry should appear in your journal soon after you arrive to MAST District of New Atlantis located on Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system.

Out On a Limb

You will be able to start this mission some time (approx. one day) after you complete the mission "A Tree Grows in New Atlantis". The activity "Speak with Kelton Frush" will then be listed in your mission log.

Late Bloomer

You will be able to start this mission some time (approx. one day) after you complete the mission "Out On a Limb". The activity "Speak with Kelton Frush" will then be listed in your mission log.

A Light in the Darkness

This quest can be started in two ways. Walking through New Atlantis near the starport you can at some point be hooked by a man named Tommy who will tell you to talk to Nadia Muffaz. You can also go to the Settled Systems News Network (SSNN) building located in Commercial District of New Atlantis and talk to Nadia early on.

Primary Sources

To start this mission, talk to Nadia Muffaz and ask what she is currently working on and then offer your help.

Suspicious Activities

You can start this mission while doing the mission "Primary Sources". When Theresa Mason tells you about her problem then offer to help her solve it.

Reliable Care

You can start this mission while doing the mission "Primary Sources". When Talia O'Shea tells you about her problem then offer to help her solve it.

The Kindness of Strangers

To start this mission you should speak with Andy Singh whom you will find in the underground district of New Atlantis, which is The Well. He runs the House of the Enlightened.

A Shipment for Salinas

To start this mission you should speak with Vicente Salinas whom you can find in the Apex Electronics shop in the underground district of New Atlantis, which is The Well.

Tapping the Grid

To start this mission you should speak with Louisa Reyez whom you will find in the underground district of New Atlantis, which is the Well. you can find her by following the "Investigate brown-outs in the Well" activity.

Alternating Currents

This mission starts automatically after completing the previous mission for Louisa Reyez that is the mission "Tapping the Grid".

A Parting Gift

To start this quest you should talk to Zawadi Wade which you will find in the residential district of New Atlantis. When you agree to help her she will give you a letter and 1,000 credits as upfront payment.

Terror Brew

To start this mission you should talk to Markieff Sutherland, a patron of Dawn's Roost restaurant. He will prove to be very dissatisfied with the quality of the coffee served at the restaurant.

Loose Ends

You will receive this mission when you visit Neon on planet Volii Alpha, for example, probably playing the main mission "All That Money Can Buy". At the elevator entrance you will meet soldiers who arrest a man for attempted smuggling.

Fishy Business

You can start this mission after you complete the "Loose Ends" mission. Speak to Yannick Legrande and agree to cooperate with him.

Supply Line

This mission starts automatically after completing the "Fishy Business" mission.

Defensive Measures

This mission will start automatically when, while exploring Akila City, you approach the place where Davis Wilson and Keoni Alpin are arguing with each other.

False Positives

This mission is a follow-up to the "Defensive Measures" mission.

Leader of the Pack

This mission is a follow-up to the "False Positives" mission.

The Great Laredo Caper

You will receive this mission when, while exploring Akila City, you come across two girls. One of them will be Annie Wilcox who will try to get your attention.

Last Will and Testament

This mission may pop up in your mission log when you overhear about a job that Mayor Cartwright may have from a random Akila City guard as you roam the city. If you don't want to wait until it happens then you can just go to the place where Mayor Cartwright is staying and talk to him.

Rough Landings

This mission may appear in you mission log when you overhear about Jansen Family problems from an Akila City guard passing by. If you don't want to wait until it happens then you can just go to the place where Marko Jansen is staying and talk to him.

Beer Run

This mission may appear in your mission log when you hear from a random Akila City guard about a quarrel between Sarah Filburn and her brother-in-law Henry while exploring the city. If you don't want to wait for this to happen, then you can just go to the place where Sarah Filburn is staying and talk to her.

Blast Zone

This mission may appear in you mission log when you overhear about it from an Akila City guard passing by. If you don't want to wait until it happens then you can just go to the place where Ngodup Tate is staying and talk to him. He will offer you to sell two Akila City properties. To start this mission tell him you're not interested and then say "Nice to meet you. Goodbye".

Charity of the Wolf

To start this mission, find and talk to Amira Wolf. You will find her in the northeastern part of Akila City, inside or somewhere near The Low House. Ask her if there is anything you can do to help - "Let me know if there's a way I can help out." - and then she will ask you for a certain favor. Agree to do what she asked you to do.
