Quest Group: Side Missions
This side mission will be made available after the cleansing of the Utagawa Shopping District Torii Gate. To beging this mission talk to the spirit of the Protector of the Sacred Tree. Be prepared for a fight with several Visitors that will occur as soon as you start this mission.
Akito and KK come across the spirit of a Shinto priest who informs them of a kodama being hunted by monsters for its power, and asks them to protect it.

When you finish talking to the spirit of the protector then Kodama will show up and take shelter on a tree. Visitors will also begin to come and you will have to eliminate them asap. You must not let Kodama's health bar drop to zero.
After getting rid of all the opponents, talk to Kodama and then absorb his power. You will thus receive Magatama.
This will complete this mission and you will receive all the rewards.
