Praying to Jizo statues will permanently raise your maximum SP, the energy required to perform Ethereal Weaving. Jizo statues are each aligned with a single element: wind, water, or fire. Praying at one will permanently raise your maximum SP for the corresponding element.
A total of 52 Jizo statues are available in the game: 7 fire statues, 15 water statues and 30 wind statues. When you pray at all Jizo statues then you will unlock the "Pilgrim" achievement / trophy.
