Quest Group: Side Missions
This side mission will be made available after the Yashin Shrine is cleansed. To start this mission first talk to the spirit sitting near the escalator. The mission won't start yet but its marker will move elsewhere. Head there and talk to the spirit of the boy who can't move.
Akito and KK find the spirit of a boy who tells them about a kappa that stole something from him, leaving him unable to move. They decide to search for the kappa to help the boy out.

Place the cucumber (you received it from the spirit) on the platform.
Hide behind the statue and a kappa will show up. Before it wants to take care of the cucumber it will decide to go around the statue. Move around the statue so that it stays between you and the kappa at all times. Then she will not notice you. Use Spectral Vision to track her movements.
Eventually the kappa will decide to eat.
When she does, quickly (you have a limited amount of time for this) approach her from behind and absorb her. When you do this then you will receive Magatama.
To complete this mission talk to the boy again.
