The Sage's Buried Secret

This quest starts automatically when you and James Kidd enter the Maya temple - which happens after completing the quest "Nothing is True...".

1. Follow James Kidd

Follow Kidd. You will reach a wooden bridge, which will collapse as Kidd crosses it. He will make it across, but you will remain on this side and will have to find an alternative route.

Climb the wall on the left side - then use the thick branch winding along the wall to cross to the other side.

To open the door and move forward, climb onto the two stone blocks - red and blue - located on the walls on both sides. Once both drop down, the door will open for you.

Moving further, you will reach a chamber with a large three-colored wheel on the floor with a lever in the center to rotate it, and a red block on one of the walls.

2. Solve the statue puzzle

There are three sections on the wheel - red, blue, and green - each with a pressure plate in the center. Grab the lever and rotate the wheel so that the red pressure plate is directly under the red block.

Then, climb onto the red block to lower it. Once it drops down, the door allowing you to move forward will open.

3. Follow James Kidd

Follow Kidd further. You will have to cover part of the distance by swimming underwater.

Eventually, you should reach a giant cave with a temple.

4. Reach the temple

Hop across the stones to the other side of the pond and climb up. Another puzzle will be waiting for you at the top.

5. Solve the statue puzzle

You must manipulate the wheel and blocks so that each block ends up on its corresponding pressure plate on the wheel. There are three blocks - red, blue, and green - and they can be both lowered and raised by climbing onto the block itself or the counterweight. There are two spots where you can raise and lower the blocks.

One way to solve this puzzle is as follows:

1. Rotate the wheel so that the red stone is in the empty slot on the left side, as shown in the screenshot below.

Climb onto the counterweight to raise the red stone.

2. Rotate the wheel so that the green pressure plate is directly under the green stone, and climb onto the green stone to lower it.

3. Rotate the wheel so that the blue stone is in the empty slot on the right side - and climb onto the counterweight to raise it.

4. Rotate the wheel so that the red block is above the red pressure plate and the blue block is above the blue pressure plate - then climb onto both stones one by one to lower them down.

Once you manage to set all the blocks correctly, a cutscene will play, followed immediately by the next main quest - Overrun And Outnumbered.
