Dead Drop is one of the quests available during the prologue of The Blood of Dawnwalker. To start it, you must head to the graveyard located east of the settlement and inspect the old, forgotten grave you find there.

I found fresh flowers on top of an old, forgotten grave... Something off about it.
If I want to solve this mystery, I need to look for clues around the old grave.
Use Focus Mode to find the footprints on the ground near the old grave.
The tracks I found lead away from the old grave and towards the forest. I need to follow them.
Follow the tracks. Along the way, you will pass trees with carved symbols on them. Eventually, you will reach a large tree trunk with such a symbol carved into it - inspect it.
The tracks led to a hollow log... Maybe there's something inside?
Take the items hidden between the tree roots. These will be: Mysterious Letter (Quest Item), Ring of Purging (Superior Ring - +3.2% Damage against Supernatural Enemies), and 24 Denarius.
Reward: 100XP
I found a mysterious letter, addressed simply to 'L' - wonder who that might be?
