Unwritten Tales

Unwritten Tales are secret, unmarked side quests. Unlike standard missions, these do not appear on your world map, are not tracked in your quest journal, and do not provide waypoints to follow. They are short narrative encounters that require you to pay close attention to the environment and NPCs to complete.

A Proper BurialHow to complete: Interact with the ship captain's body lying next to the shipwreck to give him a proper burial.
Heal the LandHow to complete: A ruined, burnt-out house with a Sakai clan banner. After interacting with the banner, a mysterious woman named Kodama will appear and ask you to stop Mongols from destroying a nearby forest. You must follow her guidance into a foggy area, defeat the enemies, and then return to the house to collect the supplies left for you on a tree stump.
Help the BeekeeperHow to complete: A beekeeper named Hachibee is being harassed by Mongols who intend to destroy his hives. You must defeat several waves of Mongol attackers while ensuring Hachibee remains safe. Once the area is clear, speaking to him finishes the tale.
Hidden Archery ChallengeHow to complete: To trigger the event, you must be wearing Tadayori's Armor (The Legend of Tadayori mythic tale reward). When you speak to the NPC while dressed appropriately, he will challenge you to prove your skill. You must successfully hit all the lanterns within a set time limit to satisfy the raiders and finish this tale.
Retell Legendary TalesHow to complete: A woman named Uta is a fan of the storyteller Gyozen but has never heard the end of his tales. Originally, players were required to complete all story missions in the Legends (multiplayer) mode to finish this, but a later patch allows you to tell her the stories even without playing multiplayer. Completing this rewards you with the White Kitsune mask.
Save Drowning PeasantsHow to complete: A group of Mongols attempting to drown local peasants in a shallow lake. You must act quickly to eliminate the Mongols before the peasants are killed. Once they are saved, speak to them to complete the tale.
