Old Friends Assassin's Creed Valhalla Quest

1. Travel to Snotingham / Search for Hemming's envoy / Speak to Trygve

Go to Snotingham. When you get there then enter the caves and find a man named Trygve.

He will inform you that Vili and his father have gone to attack Ulkerthorpe Fort. You can go with him to them.

2. Follow Trygve

Follow Trygve. He'll lead you to the Snotingham harbor.

3. Escort Trygve and his convoy

When you reach the port, Trygve will suggest that you continue by river. Call your longboat and wait for Trygve to board.

It is best to sail in the middle of the river to easily avoid traps that slow your boat down. You will be followed by two smaller boats. Picts archers will attack you from the banks. You can eliminate them by shooting red jars, quite a lot of which are standing on the banks, with your bow.

When you and two smaller boats arrive at your destination, dock your boat and go ashore.

4. Meet with Hemming Jarl

Mount a horse and ride to the place where the troops commanded by Hemming are stationed - Tip of the Spear.

You will talk with him and his son Vili for a while, then the Jarl will give a speech to his warriors and the attack on Ulkerthorpe Fort will begin.

5. Find and kill the Pict Chief / Retrieve the Pict Chief's spear

The Pict commander is at the top of the tower. This will not be a regular assault on the fortress so you don't need to break any gates, etc.

You can get to the top of the tower any way you want, for example you can skip the courtyard and climb the fortress walls from the west side. You probably won't get to the top without having to kill a few soldiers who spot you along the way. The commander will not be on the roof alone either.

When you get to the top of the tower you will have to kill the commander and then loot his spear. He is a slightly stronger but only elite opponent.

Killing the Pict Chief and looting his spear will end the siege and you will talk to Jarl. It was actually him who sent for you. He did it because he is ill and he wanted to ask you to help him determine who should be his successor. This quest will end.
