How to change the appearance of your longship?

First, you need to travel to England and unlock your settlement there. Then you'll have to build the shipyard in your settlement. This will cost 600 supplies and 45 raw materials. The fastest way to get the necessary components is to raid the monasteries. Finally, you will need schemes. Each of these will allow you to change the appearance of one of the five elements of the ship.

Expert craftsman Gudrun can modify your longship, so long as she has the right cosmetic scheme.

Return with new schemes to unlock and apply new customizations.

Which elements of your longship can you change?

There are five elements of your longship that can be changed in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. These elements are:

Hulls
Sails
Shields
Figureheads
Tailpieces

You can mix elements from all sets to customize your ship as you like.

Where to get new schemes?

You can get the schematics for 2 sets by finding Treasure Hoard Maps and then finding the treasures described in them.
Some of the schematics can be bought from various vendors.
You can get one set of the schematics by completing all quests for Valka.
Many can be bough from Helix Store.

This is the default appearance of your longboat.

Available as soon as the shipyard is built.

Snakebite Set

All items in this set can be obtained by exploring. All you have to do is find the places where the treasure maps lead to.

Jotunheim Set

All schematics from this set can be purchased (260 silver each) from Traders in England.

Jomsviking Set

All schematics from this set can be purchased (200 Foreign Supplies each) from Vegn (River Raids merchant in your settlement).

Niflheim's Wind Set

You have to upgrade your settlement to level 6 then you can buy all schematics from a trader (470 silver each).

Isu Set

You have to upgrade your settlement to level 6 then you can buy all schematics from a trader (460 silver each).

Asgardian Set

Build Fishing Hut in your settlement and bring specific fish to the fisherman in your settlement and he will give you schematics.

Hull - 1 x Bullhead (big), 2 x Perch (regular), 2 x Halibut (regular)
Sail - 2 x Salmon (big), 4 x Bream (regular), 3 x Grey Trout (regular), 5 x Sturgeon (small)
Shields - 1 x Perch (big), 2 x Eel (regular), 4 x Brown Trout (small)

Jackdaw Set

The ability to unlock parts of this set was only available for a limited time when the river raids were added to the game. The hull and sail have been unlocked for each player (it was group challenge). Getting the tailpiece required the player to personally complete five river raids. Getting the figurehead required the player to personally complete ten tiver raids. The shields were seen in Reda's shop.
