This quest begins when you arrive on the Isle of Skye for the first time. Edyt gives you tips on what you should start your investigation with and then you part ways.
Eivor has arrived on the Isle of Skye to find its inhabitants driven to madness by nightmares, true to Edyt's description. The source of their woes has to be uncovered - even if that means confronting Randvi as Valka predicted.

Prior quests
To begin Tossing and Turning you must first complete A Distorted Dream.
Quest stages of Tossing and Turning
1. Reach the village of Kiltaraglen / Ask the villagers about the nightmares
Head south, as this is where the village of Kiltaraglen is located. When you get there you will be able to talk to some villagers, who you can identify using Odin's Sight. You will get important information from a woman you come across on your way to the harbor.
2. Find the warrior with a braid
Head to the cursed church. You will meet Kassandra there.
At first you will start fighting each other, but the fact that you both have hidden blades will make you two begin talking to each other.
Kassandra will explain to you what she is looking for on the island and eventually you will come to the conclusion that you should work together.
3. Destroy the Cursed Symbol to unfog the area
Head to the church, which is located on a hill and together with Kassandra, forcibly open the front door. Shoot the pulley that the chandelier hangs on. The falling chandelier will reveal the entrance to the basement. Jump down.
To destroy the barrier blocking the entrance to the room with the symbol you must get an oil jar. You will find it in a small room, the entrance to which is hidden behind a rack. Be aware of the trap. Just jump over it.
Use the jar to destroy the barrier and then destroy the symbol itself.
4. Leave the crypt / Kill the ambushers
You have to leave the crypt by a different route than you came here. You must use the door leading to the tunnel which is located in the room with the symbol.
After exiting the cave, you will have to deal with some opponents.
Once you've done that Kassandra will tell you a little more about the artifact she's looking for, you'll decide what to do next and that will end this quest.
After completing Tossing and Turning you will get or will be able to get Night and Day.
