The Stench of Treachery Assassin's Creed Valhalla Quest
Group: Grantebridgescire / The Song of Soma
You will receive this quest automatically when you have completed all three Soma's advisers quests.
One of Soma's three most trusted advisors is a traitor. Eivor must investigate Grantebridgescire and find out who they are.
Prior quests
To begin The Stench of Treachery you must first complete Razing Earnningstone, Unholy Father and Storming Ravensburg.
Quest stages of The Stench of Treachery
1. Regroup in Grantebridge
Return to Ravensburg. Soma managed to catch one of Wigmund's captains and tell you and her advisors to interrogate him.
The captain will tell you that Wigimund is on the Isle of Ely. That's all you'll learn, because Galinn kills him.
2. Speak to Soma
Go to Soma and tell her what you learned from the captain. Soma will ask you what you have found out about the traitor and you will receive the following options.
- Here is what I know… - You can tell Soma what you found out during discussions with her advisors. You will then receive further instructions that will allow you to continue your investigation.
- I'm ready to accuse someone. - You can now accuse one of the advisors of treason. Soma will kill the person you have chosen. You will find the name of the traitor at the bottom of this page. If you point out the wrong person, it will affect the next mission.
- I need to ask around. - Actually, the same as in the first case.
3. (Optional) Report back to Soma
Look for more evidence and return to Soma when you are ready to accuse someone.
- Look for evidence in Grantebridge
- Look for evidence in the swamps / Search the swamps for a yellow longship
You can talk to the people in the village. One of the men in the village will mention a boat that was moored nearby on the day of the attack. You can also enter the tunnel and examine the sign painted with yellow paint at it's exit.
Then follow the yellow paint trail. To find paint marks, use Odin's Sight.
The trail will take you to the riverbank where you will find an empty paint bucket.
Examine it and you will come to further conclusions.
To find a boat, go to the place marked on the picture below.
Kill a few opponents on the shore and examine the boat. You will get another very important clue.
Examine the crates standing on the shore and you will come to further conclusions.
The boat was attacked by bandits but someone managed to escape. When you go in the direction in which this person escaped, you will reach the tower where you found one of Soma's advisors. And it was ... GALINN. He is the traitor.
After completing The Stench of Treachery you will get or will be able to get An Island of Eels.
