Quest stages of Storming the Walls
1. Regroup with your allies / Speak to Basim
Return to Forward Camp and speak with Basim. You will find him and others on a hill with a good view of Portcestre. When you are ready to launch the attack, tell him about it.
You will then approach the city walls, where you will be greeted by Fulke. After a short conversation with her, you will begin the attack on the fortress.
2. Breach the gate
Before you reach the main gate, the ram will have to pass two palisades. The ram should be able to get past them quickly enough on his own, but you can help it, for example by using an oil jars or a ballista.
During the attack you will be under the fire of enemy archers and ballistas located on the walls of the fortress. So try to quickly destroy the ballistas...
...and also the oil cauldrons from which oil is poured onto the area just in front of the gate.
You will then be able to man the battering ram and help smash the gate.
3. Destroy one of the palisades
You must destroy one of the palisades. The fastest way to do this is to shoot the red jar standing next to one of them.
5. Destroy the palisade
To destroy another palisade you will need an oil jar.
You can find one, for example, near the boat standing in the middle of the square.
You can also use the ballista that stands in the building opposite the gate.
6. Get inside the keep
You now need to get inside the keep. The main door is locked and you need the key to open it.
The key is in the possession of one of the soldiers. If you have spared Fulke's Champion during the "Reaver of the South" quest, then he will have the key, otherwise it will be another elite opponent.
You can also get inside by other means. For example, there's nothing stopping you from simply climbing up the outside walls, ladders, etc.
7. Search for Sigurd
When you get inside the keep, head upstairs until you reach the room where Sigurd was once held captive.
Then walk out to the "balcony" and you will see Fulke escaping to the nearby church.
8. Get inside the church
Head to the church. When you arrive at the church, you'll need to force open its door. Basim will help you. Inside the church you will find wounded Sigurd and Fulke.
Fulke will not be willing to face you and will flee to the catacombs located below the church. Basim will stay with Sigurd and you will follow Fulke.
9. Find and kill Fulke
You will go down to the catacombs. Follow the corridors until you find Fulke. After a short conversation with her you will start to fight each other. Fulka fights using a large sword and flail. She is fast, will hide in the darkness and then attack you by surprise.
Use Odin's Sight to locate her when she is hiding in the dark. Once Fulke has extinguished the fire that lights up the area, move to another room that is lighted.
You can also use a torch, but it will make you lose one of your weapons. Occasionally Fulke will try to throw a bomb at you, you should try to avoid this.
When you take about 2/3 of her life, you stop fighting. Fulke will reveal to you what she knows about Sigurd and then she will throw a smoke grenade and start running away.
10. Kill Fulke
Follow Fulke outside. She will not get too far because she will be stopped by the warriors standing outside. Another fight with her will begin. Her life points will be at the same level as they were when you finished the fight in the catacombs. This time she will use a a massive crucifix taken from one of the nearby graves, which will make her slower, but her blows will deal more damage.
Once Fulke is dead, Bishop Deorlaf and Ubba will come and inform you about the approaching soldiers from Wincestre. Basim will take Sigurd and leave the fortress and your task will be to face the attacking soldiers.
11. Hold off the Saxons
Just kill all the enemy soldiers.
Once all are dead, the assault on Portcestre will be over and you will be rewarded. The reward will be a new dagger - Kopis. This quest will end and you will receive a new one - "Of All That Has Passed…".
After completing Storming the Walls you will get or will be able to get Of All That Has Passed….
