Smashing the Compass Assassin's Creed Valhalla Quest

1. Meet Stowe and Erke

Go to Saint Paul's Cathedral. When you get there you will notice that the people gathered around are not happy with the death of Avgos and Sister Frideswid and blame the sheriffs for that.

Go inside the cathedral and talk to Stowe and Erke. When you are planning further actions together, the church will be set on fire and the exit door will be blocked from outside.

2. Escape Saint Paul's

Climb up, jump on the scaffolding and then jump over the rope and beam to the other side.

Climb to the top of the tower and then break the boards blocking the doorway and get out.

From the roof you will see that The Compass' fleet has arrived at the city docks.

3. Rescue Stowe and Erke from the blaze

You must unlock the cathedral entrance door. There are a few opponents standing nearby. You can first kill all of them yourself and then unblock and open the door, or you can open the door asap and then Stowe and Erke will help you in the fight.

After getting rid of the opponents, talk to Stowe and Erke. You will tell them about the boats you saw from the roof. You will be able to choose who you want to go with towards the boat on which you should find The Compass.

• Springalds with Stowe. - Stowe will lead you to the springalds that point towards the river. Use the springalds to destroy other springalds on the boats. This route seems to be the easiest.
• Flanking with Erke. - Select this option if you prefer a more sneaky approach. Erke will lead you to a quiet river bank from where you will be able to bypass most of the opponents. To avoid detection you should swim underwater.
• I'll go alone. - be like Chuck Norris :P

4. Find and assassinate The Compass

No matter which way you choose, your final target is Vicelin standing on a platform floating on the river.

Vicelin uses a flail in combat. He has three weak points, you should try to take advantage of this. Watch out for his grab. When he catches you, he will throw you off the platform. Avoid the red circles that will appear on the ground as the area will be fired upon after a moment. Try to lure Vicelin towards the red oil jars surrounding the platform and ignite them when he is in range.

5. Speak to Stowe and Erke

Once Vicelin is dead, go back to the docks and talk to the reeves. This will end this quest.
