Counting Sheep Assassin's Creed Valhalla Quest

Group: Isle of Skye (A Fated Encounter)

This quest begins when, after the events that took place at the end of the "Night and Day" quest, Eivor decides to find the artifact without Kassandra's assistance.

To retrieve the artifact causing the nightmares on the Isle of Skye, Eivor must collect shards on the island and place them on the pedestal that Kassandra revealed. Only then will the door that leads to the artifact open.

Prior quests

To begin Counting Sheep you must first complete Night and Day.

Quest stages of Counting Sheep

1. Gather the shards to open the door to the Cave of Gold (0/5)

You must now visit the five locations marked on your map and find one shard in each of them. When you collect all five shards, and you can do it in any order, this quest will end and you will receive another one.

1.1. Hungladder

You'll find one of the shards in Hungladder in an underground cavity whose entrance is roughly in the middle of the village.

1.2. Excavation Site

You will find the second shard in a cave at the Excavation Site.

To gain access to it you must destroy the wall. The easiest way to do this is to use the Incendiary Powder Trap ability.

However, if you need a jar of oil, you will find one in the ruins of one of the towers located at the excavation site.

You'll find more jars by the destroyed cart you'll find on the road to the southeast.

1.3. Dun Ardtreck

You will find this fragment in the ruins located below the surface of the sea. You need to dive in the place shown in the picture below, located east of Dun Ardtreck.

1.4. Fairy Pools

To get this shard go to Fairy Pools and examine the pedestal placed behind the waterfall.

You won't find a shard in it, but it will cause that a woman will pop up on an islet in the middle of the pond with whom you will be able to speak.

You will learn from her that she is the one who has the shard and she will have an unusual request to you. No matter how you decide to get out of the situation, when you do you will get the shard.

1.5. Brother's Cave

To get this shard go to the Brother's Cave. Instead of the shard you will find a letter from which you will learn that someone else took it.

Use Odin's Sight and you should notice the footprints. Follow them and they will lead you to one of the houses in the nearby settlement.

The front door is locked from the inside. Move the rack covering one of the windows and shoot the lock on the door.

Inside the house, you'll find another letter, after reading which more traces will appear, which you'll be able to follow using Odin's Sight.

The tracks will lead you along the road to the northeast. After some time you should reach a clearing where you will find two high-hanging platforms.

Climb up to one of the platforms, get rid of the net with rocks blocking the way and jump to the other platform to take the shard lying on the crate.

After completing Counting Sheep you will get or will be able to get What Dreams May Come.
