A Challenge from the Gods Assassin's Creed Valhalla Quest

1. Reach Ravensthorpe

Return to your settlement in England and go to the location marked on the map.

You will then witness a large fiery meteor fall nearby.

2. Investigate the crash site

Go to the crash site and talk to the old woman you meet there.

She will introduce herself as Hildiran and will draw your attention to a strange symbol that was revealed when a meteorite hit the mountainside. It is probably a door behind which treasures are hidden. The woman will ask you if she can settle in your settlement and you will agree.

3. Talk to Hildiran

When you are done talking at the crash site then the woman will move into your settlement and a new building, her headquarters, will be built in your settlement.

Talk to Hildiran again. She will give you some information and then challenge you to a duel.

4. Fight Hildiran

You'll be in a fistfight and what may seem like a trivial task at first will not be so easy. She has mastered dodging to perfection so it's best to wait until she attacks, parry her punch and then land a few strikes.

When you defeat her, the woman will use a mysterious amulet, thus activating the Freya's shrine and transporting you both to another dimension.

There, she will take the form of a berserker and you will have to defeat her again, this time using a weapon. A slight complication might be that you won't have your own weapons and armor, but only predefined ones.

When you succeed, you will return to Hildiran's house where she will explain to you what happened. That was a battle meditation and you entered Hugrheim, the mind's realm. She will give you the amulet and instructions on what you should do with it. On your map will be marked the position of the shrine where you should go and meditate.

5. Meditate at the indicated Shrine

Go to the designated location - Wenlocan Outpost, and interact with the shrine. This will activate the challenge menu and a short tutorial on how to use it.

Note: When you approach the shrine it will be able to serve as a fast travel point.

First, you will have to choose which challenge you want to take on.

• Trial of the Bear - melee combat.
• Trial of the Wolf - ranged combat.
• Trial of the Raven - stealth combat.

Then you will learn the rules that apply during the challenge.

• You won't have access to your inventory and Hugrheim will provide you with gear and abilities that you will need to use to complete the Trial. Gear and abilities will be displayed on the screen. Hover over them to get more info.
• Depending on the type of challenge you choose, points will be awarded for different activities. These will be displayed in the "Scoring Breakdown" section along with the amount of points you receive for them.
• Depending on your point score, you may earn medals: bronze, silver, and gold.
• Your difficulty settings are going to be overridden for the duration of the Trial. They will go back to the values you chose afterwards.

6. Finish one of the Trials

Choose any of the challenges and press and hold the start button. You will be taken to a location where you can do this. The challenge will end when you complete the main objective. Depending on the chosen challenge, your main objective will be:

• Trial of the Bear - (300 / 600 / 1000) - Kill all the targets 0/4. Scored activities are: Fall damage kills (480 points, 40 per kill), Melee kills (360 points, 45 per kill), Kill all the targets (160 points, 40 per kill).
• Trial of the Wolf - (300 / 600 / 1000) - Eliminate all the guards. Scored activities are: Indirect kills (720 points, 30 per kill), Eliminate all the guards (280 points).
• Trial of the Raven - (300 / 600 / 1000) - Steal all the artifacts 0/4. Scored activities are: Assassinations (702 points, 54 points per kill), Remain anonymous (198 points), Steal all the artifacts (100 points, 25 per artifact).

When you complete the challenge you will receive 0 - 3 medals based on your score. You will also receive energy, which will be used as currency for purchases from Hildiran.

• Battle Energy - 10 for each medal.
• Mastery Energy - 2 for silver medal, 4 for gold medal.

7. Gather more Medals - Bronze Medals 1/3

Complete the remaining two challenges to earn at least a bronze medal in each.

8. Talk to Hildiran

Return to Hildiran and inform her that the task has been completed.

With the energy you acquired you will be able to buy various types of items from her: weapons (6 weapons, 15 Mastery Energy each), decorations (100 + 4 x 30 Battle Energy) or tattoos (80 + 3 x 50 Battle Energy). More shrines will be marked on your map where new challenges await you and this quest will end.
