Quest Group: Tales of Tsushima
Tale: Norio Tale
Location: Toyotama
Prerequisites: To play this tale, you must first complete the tale The Birth of Suffering.
This tale will be unlocked after completing "The Birth of Suffering" tale.
(5 of 9) Norio told me that Abbot Komei came from Cedar Temple to help resist the Mongols in Toyotama. l was relieved to hear he escaped the attack, but Norio and I need to find him quickly before the Mongols do.
Talk to Norio. He'll mention a nearby farm that supports the temple, so you will decide to go there to look for the abbot.
The abbot of the temple was preaching resistance to the Mongols. Norio and I must find him, or Kushi Temple will fall.
Ride with Norio to Koshimizu Farmstead. When you get near the farm, you'll spot the smoke coming from one of the buildings on the farm.
If you have not yet liberated the farm from the hands of the Mongols, then you will have to do so first and then talk to Norio, who will be waiting for you at the bridge. If the farm is already liberated, you can go straight to the burnt building.
Enter the burnt-out house and examine the charred body on the floor. It will not be the body of the abbot but only remains of one of his followers. Then examine the two tipped over water barrels next to it, then a straw bedding next to the barrels, and finally the window behind. You'll come to the conclusion that the abbot managed to get out of the burned house.
Jump through the window and find the footprints. Follow them along a path leading a little up the hill. After a while, you'll reach the stone stairs and come across a single Mongol. Get rid of him.
Next to the place where the Mongol stood, you will find traces of blood leading to a nearby pond.
Head to the pond and kill a small group of Mongols you come across over there. Then approach the edge of the waterfall and examine the blood-sprayed rock. It looks like the wounded monk jumped down.
Do exactly what the monk did, jump into the water below.
Then get out of the water and squeeze through a gap into a small cave located behind the waterfall. You'll find the monk's body there.
Examine the monk's body. Unfortunately, this is Abbot Komei. You will find a message that he wrote in his own blood before he died - his last sutra.
Together with Norio, you will automatically return to the temple where you will hand over the letter you found to the monks and thus convince them to stay in the temple. Then this tale will be over.
After completing this tale, you will be able to play the tale The End of Suffering.
