Quest Group: Francia (The Siege of Paris)
Prerequisites: To play this quest, you must first complete the quest The Rot in the Slums.
This quest starts right after you kill Bishop Engelwin during the quest "The Rot in the Slums" and try to leave the undergrounds of the church.
A strange crest was found on Bishop Engelwin. Investigating his personal chambers might reveal more information.
Engelwin's chambers are on the other side of the room where a little earlier you had to light two braziers. You will open the door using the key you found in the bishop's corpse.
In the first room, examine the strange symbol...
...and take the Scythe of Revolt hanging on the wall.
Then move the bookcase blocking access to the adjacent room and examine the letter...
...and journals.
Charles is in a brothel under the Boatmen Baths Tavern. When you return to the tavern and talk to the tavernkeep she will tell you that the brothel is currently closed because of a special guest. When you pay her 13 silver coins, she will tell you about the second secret entrance to the brothel which is located outside the tavern, under a big tree.
Find the place the tavernkeep told you about, destroy the boards covering the entrance and go down.
You will enter the brothel area through a small opening near the floor. Then find the room where Charles is spending his time.
You two will start talking. Charles will agree to talk more about your proposal if you do a certain task for him - find his wife who has been taken.
Return to the long house in Melun and inform Sigfred and Toka of what you have accomplished. Sigfred will not be happy that you talked to Charles, and that you are still trying to make a deal with him.
Follow Toka to the morgue. Pierre will also be there. There you will see what happened to the missing members of the watch. Toka will blame the Franks for what happened.
When you tell Toka about the task Charles gave you, she will refuse to help you, but Pierre will tell you where the queen was last seen. This will end this quest and you will receive another one.
After completing this quest, you will be able to play the quest The Missing Queen.
