Quest Group: Francia (The Siege of Paris)
You can start this quest in two ways. This will happen when you read the Guard Letter lying on the floor in Lutetia Bureau near the door with the three locks or when you find one of the three keys needed to open this door.
Just as they were in England, the Hidden Ones seem absent from Francia. What treasures could they have left behind?
Keys can be found in Roman excavation sites. The order in which you visit these places does not matter.
Go to Champlieu Ruins. Break the wooden barrier on the ground, go down the ladder and open the door.
Destroy the stone wall blocking the passage on the left.
If you need an oil jar for this, slide through one of the holes near the floor into the room on the right and you will find a jar there.
Once you destroy the stone wall, enter the room on the other side and take the key lying on the table.
Go to Diodurum Ruins. You will be able to get inside the ruins through a tunnel starting in a nearby pond.
Once inside, you will have to swim through a flooded tunnel.
Next, you will have to destroy the stone wall blocking the way. You can use the oil jars standing nearby.
The key lies on one of the tables.
Go to Gisacum Ruins. The ruins have been taken over by bandits and you will find the entrance to the underground in the central part.
The key is located on the side of the main room. The only impediment to taking it will be a swarm of rats. You can just run in there quickly, swing your weapon to chase the rats away and quickly take the key.
You can also get to the key by climbing over the wall. The rats will not reach you.
The entrance to the office is located on the south side of the town.
With all the keys Eivor will easily open the door to the bureau.
You must destroy the stone wall blocking the passage.
The easiest way to do this, of course, is to use the Incendiary Powder, but if you can't use this ability then you will find an oil jar on the upper level. You will have to carry the jar down, being careful not to come into contact with the rats and dealing with the semi-darkness of the room.
After blowing up the wall, move on and after a while you will find a treasure chest. In the chest you will find a mythical short sword - Joyeuse.
Leave the bureau the same way you got here.
Read the letter you find lying on the floor. This will end this quest.
Strange Letter
"This place of honor forever holding, the deeds that were done
We abide always many in number, yet together are one.
Whose firm faith and whose lonely labor, serve only the fight
I must yet stay unknown in the darkness, so you may work in the light."
Forgive the dead soldiers. They would not leave peacefully.
