Quest Group: Francia (The Siege of Paris)
Prerequisites: To play this quest, you must first complete the quest Fire and Faith.
This quest is a continuation of the events from the quest "Fire and Faith". Eivor enters Charles' mansion to finally deal with the mad king.
Eivor confronts an enraged Charles the Fat.
The Sanctum door requires two keys
Key of Devils acquired (Ground Floor)
Key of Angels acquired - in Altar room, get Altar Room key (upper floor, move rack)
If you check the door to the room where Charles is hiding, you will find out that you need two keys to unlock it. You will find the first of the keys on the table in the first floor room located to the left.
To get the second key you must first go to the room on the upper floor. Open the door, push the rack blocking the passage and destroy the wooden wall.
There is a jug on the table in this room. Break it and take another key. This is the key to another room located on the upper floor.
Enter another room located on the upper floor. Beware of the crazy man who will set himself on fire which will cause an explosion, use the key to open the door located there.
In the room you will find the second of the keys you need. Once you have both keys, return downstairs and open the door behind which the king is hiding.
Note: The more injured Charles is, the longer he remains stunned when his stamina is depleted.
If you want to kill him then fight him close to one of the four braziers located in the room and push him toward the flames when he is stunned. Doing so will take away a lot of his health points. It will also destroy the brazier so you'll need to use another one the next time. To stun him you must deplete his stamina bar. The best way is to focus on his two weak points - head and one of the legs. Charles will be trying to extinguish the braziers. If this happens, you can re-light them using a fire arrow.
Killing the king will make Richardis sad.
To save him you must use the lever to raise the grating to the back room, injure Charles enough, and use the moment he is stunned inside the back room to pull the lever again to lower the grating and trap him inside.
