Quest Group: Secondary Quests
Suggested level: 10
Location: Velen
Prerequisites: To play this quest, you must first complete the quest Contract: The Merry Widow.
To start this quest you have to finish the "Contract: The Merry Widow" quest and then wait a few days. When enough time has passed, a new notice should be posted on the message boards in Velen. Go to Lindenvale and talk to the ealdorman, who you will find near the signpost.
Geralt learned of a witcher who had earned the ire of several villages in Velen. One of the inhabitants of Lindenvale had even accused him of fathering his daughter's child. The whole affair seemed highly suspicious, so Geralt decided to investigate and find out the truth of the matter.
The ealdorman will tell you about a stranger who visited their village and pretended to be a Witcher.
Go to the cemetery and kill the ghoul (10) you encounter there.
Then approach the fake witcher who is hiding behind the chapel. He will tell you that he only pretends to be a witcher and that he bought the amulet. After a while the peasants from the village will come to the cemetery. It is up to you what the fate of the fake witcher will be.
You'll have four options:
1. Only one here. > Let him go.

2. Only one here. > Take him to the village elder.

3. Took two witchers to kill this ghoul. > He's gotta work off his failure.
Geralt found the man who was pretending to be a witcher in the nearby cemetery. He decided not to hand the swindler over to the villagers but meted out his own punishment instead. He took his counterfeit medallion from him and forced him to work off his crimes by laboring in the fields.
4. Took two witchers to kill this ghoul. > He's not allowed to return to this village.
Geralt found the man who was pretending to be a witcher in the nearby cemetery. He took pity on the man and did not hand him over to the local authorities, instead letting him go free on the condition that he never return there again.
