Quest Group: Chapter 2 - Horseshoe Overlook
Category: Story Mission
Prerequisites: To play this mission, you must first complete the mission Pouring Forth Oil I-III.
In order to start a train robbery, you must first complete the preparations for the robbery, i.e. complete the Pouring Forth Oil I-III mission, and then go to the place where you left the oil wagon.
John asked you to meet him and Charles at the oil wagon for the train robbery.
When you get there, you'll find Sean who wants to join your group. Arthur will try to resist, but will eventually agree to Sean taking part in the robbery. Together you will wait until dark for the other members of the team.
When nightfall comes, John and Charles will join you and together you will go to a place where you will try to stop the train.
Blocking the tracks with the heavy oil wagon, Arthur, John, Charles and Sean board the train and rob valuables from the rich passengers and baggage car.
Take the oil wagon to the ambush site and place it on the railroad tracks.
Arthur will climb to the top of the wagon while others will hide near the tracks. As expected, the train will stop before the obstacle.
When the train stops, jump off the wagon, go and board the first of the passenger cars.
John will start collecting valuables from the passengers. Follow him.
Four passengers will try to resist. Your task will be to beat these passengers and convince them to cooperate.
When you reach the third passenger car, John will no longer need your help and you will be able to move forward.
After a while, you should see Sean trying to get into the cargo car. Unfortunately, he will be overpowered by a guard who is inside.
Draw your weapon and eliminate the guard Sean's in trouble with.
A second guard will appear on the roof of the wagon, and then two more will come to the wagon. If you want to earn a gold medal, then you must kill them before Sean recovers and starts shooting at them. Since one of the requirements to earn a gold medal is to get 10 kills in Dead Eye, you should use that skill.
You now have to quickly, because you don't have much time for this, steal everything from three cabinets and a chest. All of them will be marked on the minimap.
There is also a bottle of Fine Brandy in the car but it's not required to be picked up to complete the gold medal requirement.
After a while, or when you rob a whole baggage car, the law enforcers will approach the train and the shooting will begin. Use crates as covers and eliminate them. They will attack in waves from all sides and there will be a lot of them.
Remember, that you have to get a total of 10 kills in Dead Eye to earn a gold medal.
When you've eliminated all your opponents, you'll jump off the train. Get on your horse and as soon as possible move away from the red search area. The easiest way to do this is to just ride northwest along the railroad tracks until you're safe.
When you are safe, you will split the loot and each member of your group will go their own way.
After completing this mission, you will be able to play the mission The Sheep and the Goats.
