Prerequisites: To play this mission, you must first complete the mission Simple Pleasures.
To begin this mission, come to Mr. Dickens who fixes the fence at ranch. You will talk a little bit about your past and then you will get down to work.
John works a day at the ranch, helping Dickens build a fence, and looking after livestock.

One of the requirements for winning a gold medal in this mission is that you repair the first section of the fence within the set time limit (1 minute 30 seconds). First swing a hammer few times to nail the post into the ground.
Then you will have to install three rails between the posts. First position the rail so that its left end can be inserted into one of the notches in the post on the left side and then position the right end of the rail so that it can be inserted into the corresponding hole in the post on the right side.
When you do that, pick up another post.
The rest of the fence will be built by John without your help.
At some point, he'll hear a call from a nearby corral and you'll regain control over him. Finish the last element of the fence and head towards the corral.
Come to Mr. Dickens and two other ranchers who have a problem with a stubborn bull.
This bull will break free and escape after a while, so if you want to earn the gold medal in this mission, move away from it so that you won't get hit by it and just wait.
Equip the lasso and try to slowly approach the bull to a distance that will allow you to cast the lasso. Be careful. Don't get too close to the bull. The bull will free itself from the noose, and start charging towards you. Quickly run aside and get away from the bull enough that it will stop chasing you.
When you use the lasso again, the bull will drag you over the ground and free itself again.
Next time, the bull will probably start charging towards you again. Jump aside again and move away from the bull to stop it chasing you.
During the next attempt, you should be able to hook the lasso. Start pulling the rope and calm the bull down whenever possible.
Once you've calmed the bull down, John will take it to the stable and then return home and the mission will be over.
After completing this mission, you will be able to play the mission Old Habits.
