This quest begins automatically after you rescue Marten from the burning building during the quest "The Flames of Greed." The villagers will ask you to rescue their healer, who has been kidnapped by bandits.
Bandits have kidnapped Hubert, the healer. Rescue him and listen to his full account of the events that transpired.

Head to the point marked on your map. There, you will find a small camp with a few bandits and a bound healer.
Start by taking out the kidnappers, then approach Hubert and untie him. Once freed, the healer will thank you for your help and provide you with some information. This will trigger a new quest.
The healer, trembling and rambling, laid the blame squarely at the feet of the current branchmaster, the "Hornsplitter." He lamented that, had Shakatu taken the lead, such tragedy would have been avoided. The full truth of this incident has finally come to light.
