In Crimson Desert, Bells, also referred to as Bell Towers, are a key exploration mechanic scattered across the world of Pywel. There are only eight of them in total, each located in a major region or city.
The primary function of Bells is to reveal the map. Ringing a bell removes the fog of war for a large portion of the surrounding region, uncovering landmarks, shops, points of interest, and the terrain layout. It helps players navigate the world more efficiently and locate important areas without having to explore every corner blindly.
Bells are also tied to the "Toll of Pywel" questline. Ringing the first bell starts this quest, and each subsequent bell you ring counts toward its completion. Some bells are story-locked, meaning you cannot access them until later chapters, so they also help pace your progression through the game.
