Quest Group: Main Missions
Chapter: Chapter 2: Trouble
Prerequisites: To play this mission, you must first complete the mission A Maze of Death.
This mission is a direct follow-up to the main mission "A Maze of Death". It will begin when in search of a mysterious figure you enter the Tokyo subway.
Akito and KK continue their search, and along the way manage to improve their spiritual arsenal at a local shrine.
After climbing to the top of Kagerie, the pair find their target with a set of tourist binoculars, which sends them deep into the foggy Shibuya underground in pursuit.
As suggested, start by activating Spectral Vision. A spiritual figure will then appear which will set off into the depths of the subway, leaving a trail behind. Follow it, first into the corridor on the left and then to the right, down the escalator to the lower level.
There again use the spectral vision and follow the trail further. At some point, the trail will disappear and the mission objective will change.
Continue following the mission markers deeper into the subway. Along the way you will have to face all sorts of minor Visitors.
At some point you will reach a subway station and railway tracks. Step down onto these and then continue through the tunnel.
At the end of the tunnel you will find an entrance to technical rooms not marked on the map. By passing through them you will eventually reach a huge cavern with an impressive vision...
... and then a huge torii gate.
Be prepared that when you approach the gate your opponent will appear and after a moment you will be transferred to another dimension and the boss fight will begin.
Yaseotoko can perform Weaving of Fire, Water or Wind. You can tell what he is going to use by the color of his hands. In addition to the weaving attacks, Yaseotoko also has another attack in which he jumps up, releases a purple laser and then lands on the ground creating a shockwave that will hurt if it hits you. To avoid taking damage you should jump over this. From time to time, Yaseotoko will hide behind a purple shield.
So avoid taking damage, and continue to attack him until his core is exposed at which time you can pull it out to end the fight.
Unfortunately, after the fight is over, an unpleasant surprise awaits you.
When you regain consciousness, you will find that you and KK have been separated from each other, which will result in the fact that you will lose his powers and will have to use only the bow to fight.
Working Solo
When Akito is separated from KK, any actions that rely on spiritual energy are severely limited. Akito will be unable to perform Ethereal Weaving techniques in combat, and some other movement and investigative abilities become similarly unusable.
However, Akito won't be left totally defenseless when working solo on the streets of Shibuya. He can still make use of items, absorb spirits with katashiro, and use his bow and arrows as well as Quick Purges to defeat Visitors, among a few other things.
When you regain control of your character then you will be back in the large cave next to the huge torri gate. There will be some Visitors in the cave. It's best to use the ladder on the left to immediately get to the platforms above. There is a Rain Walker standing at the base of the ladder but he is facing away from you so if you are quick you can use quick purge to eliminate him.
Walk along the platforms. You will remain on them unnoticed and after a while you will reach the adjacent circular room.
Get to the top level and go through the door with a red aura.
Move forward through the following rooms. Along the way you will come across a few Visitors, but they will all be facing away from you, so eliminating them should not be a problem.
Eventually you will reach a ladder that will allow you to leave the subway.
You will emerge at the point marked on the map as the "Underground Facility".
After completing this mission, you will be able to play the mission The Caves of Steel.
