This is one of the Enclave events, thanks to which you can get Promotion Commendations needed to complete the main story quest Officer on Deck. This quest awards one commendation.

MODUS has requested we patch him to a local robot construction station so he can build himself a patrol.
Use Bot-Stop Terminal > Establish External Connection.
Wait until the robots appear in the capsules.
MODUS has constructed his bots. Now it's up to us to fight off any local creatures while they boot-up.
For three minutes you have to defend the robots that will stand still in their capsules.
The bots are up and running! Now we just need to keep them safe from any remaining trouble.
Eliminate remaining enemies. The robots will help you.
