Make his healthbar drop to zero. Of course he will not be waiting for you alone.
2. Optional: Wait for the marshal (Quest completed)
I helped subdue Mad Dog Malone for the warden of Eastern Regional Penitentiary. A marshal will be by momentarily to take custody of him.
