A Trial for All Seasons Divinity: Original Sin 2 Quest

Starting Map: Reaper's Coast

To start this quest you have to find and use The Tongue of Flame.

We have come upon an elven structure of sorts in a clearing in the woods - four statues, surrounding a brazier.

Quest stages of A Trial for All Seasons

1. Solved Elf Test

The riddle

Winter shudders with ice and snow

Autumn rumbles, the sky lit aglow.

Summer burns, air fiery as a hearth.

Spring quenches, with bloody rebirth.

To solve the riddle and pass the trial you need to hit the four statues with different elemental skills.

  • Hero of Winter - Hit it with Ice Fan or Hail Strike spell.
  • Hero of Autumn - You need a steam cloud first. Make a pool of water (Rain spell, etc.), cast a fire spell on it (Searing Daggers spell, Fireball spell, etc.), then shock the cloud with a lightning spell (Electric Discharge, Dazing Bolt, etc.).
  • Hero of Summer - You can use Laser Ray spell.
  • Hero of Spring - You can use Raining Blood spell or Flesh Sacrifice (elf racial ability).

Once you activate all four totems, four challengers (lvl 14) will appear and the fight will start.

We have solved the riddle that was put to us by the brazier, only for four elven challengers to rise up and attack us.

2. Completed Elf Test

You need to defeat all four elemental challengers. Each of them has different immunity.

We have defeated the elven challengers, and completed the brazier's test.

Completed Elf Test

Rewards

Phoenix Heart (it grants Flaming Tongues spell when consumed (Elf!)) + gold and items inside the chest.

Completed Elf Test

3. Failed Elf Test

We fled from the battle with the challengers, and seem to have failed the the brazier's test as a result.

4. Close Left RC

We have left Reaper's Coast, without learning the full nature of the elven structure in the woods.
