Quest Group: Essexe / A Breviary of Broken Hearts
You will be able to start this quest by using the alliance map and selecting Essexe when it will be possible.
Find out what the Ealdorman of Essexe wants of you.
Head to Ealdorman's House in Colcestre.
Talk to the man you will meet inside. He will tell you that the owner is not at home at the moment and that you should talk to his wife.
You will find Estrid in the room located on the upper floor. She will tell you that her husband went hunting.
Go to the location marked on your map. You will find a hunting camp there but Birstan will not be there. Use Odin's Sight to locate the clues. You will need to investigate four clues - these will be a man's corpse, an overturned cauldron, a horse carcass and traces of blood.
Move towards the marker on the map. After a while you should come across Birsten, who will be attacked by two bears. Help him kill the beasts.
When the bears are dead, then Birstan will thank you for your help, you will introduce yourself and then you will set off back to town together.
Get on your horse and ride with Birstan back to his manor.
When you return, you will have to help him solve the problems of Eadred, Wyatt, and Aldrich. You will have a limited amount of time to make decisions. It doesn't really matter what you choose, they will always declare Birsten useless and leave.
Go with Birstan to the chamber where Estrid is. They both will ask you to help them "get divorced". They even have a plan on how to do it but need your help. This quest will end and you will receive two new ones.
After completing this quest, you will be able to play the quests Old Wounds, Childhood Sweetheart.
