Quest Group: Main Missions
Prerequisites: To play this mission, you must first complete the mission One Small Step.
This mission is the second main mission in Starfield. It will appear in your journal after completing the mission "One Small Step".
Sarah wanted to talk to me about my first mission.
Talk to Sarah, who is waiting in the library at the Lodge. Once you accept her assignment, she will be locked as your follower until you complete this mission.
Sarah is coming with me on my first mission. I need to speak to her contact in the UC Vanguard about a possible lead on an Artifact.
Head out of the Lodge and follow the objective marker. Speak with Commander John Tuala, he is located in the MAST district. He'll offer to let you join the Vanguard, which will start a new mission - "Supra et Ultra". If you ask him about Constellation business he will give you a lead on the person you should find and where to look for him.
We need to find Vanguard Moara, who might be in possession of an Artifact. He was last seen patrolling the Sol System.
Open the star map and make the jump to the SOL system. Land in Cydonia which is located on Mars. Enter the mining colony, and head to the bar. Talk to the bartender named Jack. For the information you need he will want 2500 credits. You can use Sarah's dialogue options to lower the price to 1000 credits. You can also try to persuade him to provide you with the information for free. One way or another, you will eventually learn that the next planet you should go to is Venus.
If you ask Jack about a way to make some cash, he'll point you towards the mission board. Such boards offer sets of repeatable missions you can undertake to earn some cash.
Head to the planet Venus. When you arrive, Sarah will point out some enemy ships nearby that are unaware of your presence and suggest what you should do to remain unnoticed.
Minimize ship system power to avoid detection. Systems like weapons and shields are easier to detect.
For maximum stealth, power down all systems except one or two bars in your Engines, and stay as far away from enemy ships as you can.
Get within 500m of the Satellite Beacon so that you can activate it.
Set all of your ship systems to level 0, except engines which you can have at 1 or 2. Then carefully approach the satellite beacon, target it and activate it. This way you will learn about the next place you should go to.
Nova Galatic Staryard is located in orbit of Earth's moon - Luna.
Most starstations and ships can be docked with, allowing you to board them. You will need to select the ship in your HUD and then fly close enough to it so that the Dock prompt appears.
The space station is quite large. You will come across more than a dozen enemies on it which you will have to get rid of - Ecliptic and Spacers.
To acquire nice loot, at the place where you will encounter Ecliptic and Spacers shooting at each other, turn right. There you will find a locked (Expert) door to a room with a storage crate.
To open this door use the Search and Rescue Key you will find on the desk in one of the next rooms.
The second item you should collect is the Nova Galactic Manual 02. You will find it while going to the main hangar where the ship is being built. It lies on a desk by the window through which you can see the hangar.
You will find the item you came here for - Vanguard Moara's Slate inside the ship being built in the hangar. To get to it you will have to get rid of several opponents who are waiting for you in hangar. They will include Ecliptic Merc who has a slightly higher level then others.
From the audio recording you will learn about the next place you should go to. It is Neptune.
In order to fly to Neptune you must first un-dock from the space station. So follow the mission markers back to the ship. If you return by this route you should find another crate with interesting contents on the way.
When you reach Neptune then you should notice Moara's ship. You will be attacked by it. Avoid the fire and start shooting at it to damage it.
Most hostile ships can be boarded once the ship engines are down. You must fly close to the ship before you will be allowed to dock. Once you board, expect the crew on the ship to fight back!
Docking to the ship is done in a similar way as it was done with the space station.
Kill all the opponents and then take the Moara's Ship Key from the corpse of one of them. The key will allow you to get into the cockpit of the ship.
You will find him in the cockpit of the ship. You can find out from him what happened. Ask him to hand over the artifact, there will be no problem with that.
The artifact is located at the front of the cockpit, on the right side. Pick it up.
We have the Artifact! Now we just need to add it to the collection back at the Lodge
Head back to your ship, undock, and then make your way to the Lodge on Jemison. You can travel directly to it. Go inside and place the new artifact next to the others.
We've added the Artifact to the collection and Sarah has offered to keep travelling with me in the future.
Wait until Sarah and Noel finish talking and then you talk can to Sarah. She will inform you about the further missions that await you- "Into the Unknown", "Back to Vectera", and "The Empty Nest". This mission will end and you will receive rewards for completing it - 400 XP, 8000 Credits, Constellation Space Suit, Constellation Space Helmet, Sarah Morgan as a companion.
After completing this mission, you will be able to play the missions Into the Unknown, Back to Vectera, The Empty Nest.
