Unearthed Starfield Mission

Group: Main Missions

You receive this mission as a result of the conversation that takes place at the end of the quest "In Their Footsteps". The Emissary suggests you to visit the moon base located on Earth's moon. He also gives you a key that will allow you to enter it.

Prior missions

To begin Unearthed you must first complete In Their Footsteps.

Objectives of Unearthed

1. Go to Nova Galactic Research Station

The Emissary has given me a key to a base on Luna, Earth's Moon, saying I'll learn more about the Artifacts if I investigate.

Travel to the Nova Galactic Research Station located on Earth's moon - Luna.

Go to Nova Galactic Research Station

2. (Optional) Collect All the Slates

As you explore the base, you can find audio records of people working at the station. There are six such records in total. Five are on the ground floor of the base...

3. Investigate the Research Station

Thanks to the key you received from the Emissary you will be able to open the airlock and enter the base.

Investigate the Research Station

Interact with the Nova Galactic Research computer and read the Project Prism Launch file.

4. Play the Recording on the Roof

Head back outside the station and climb to its roof. Play the recording.

5. Go to NASA

The first Grav Drive was developed with the help of NASA, on Earth. I need to find out how this is connected with the Artifacts.

Head to the NASA Lauch Tower located on Earth.

Go to NASA

6. Find a Way Inside

To get inside, you have to climb the launch tower to reach the elevator located at the place that the marker indicates.

Find a Way Inside

7. Enter NASA

The elevator has no power. Head to a nearby room and go inside.

Enter NASA

Place in the socket one of the emergency power cells that lie on the floor. This will restore power to the elevator so you can return to it and use it.

Enter NASA

8. Find Information about NASA

Interact with the NASA Research computer. Open "Access Station Logs" and read "Delivery from Mars" attachment.

Station log. Judith Tatienne. The recent delivery from Mars is... unsettling. I was expecting rock samples or maybe fossils of microbial life.

Instead, Doctor Victor Aiza comes with two members of the military. Everything they have brought back is under wraps.

What could a theoretical physicist need with a sample from Mars?

9. Find Information about the Martian Sample

Head further into the facility, towards the new marker. Eventually you will reach a small room where you'll find the audio log - "Judith - Personal Recording".

10. Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

Walk down into a nearby tunnel and follow it until you reach the next part of the facility. Jump on the rocks on the left side of the room, and continue down the corridor.

Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

After a while you should reach a security door that you can't open due to lack of power.

Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

Go through the yellow door located on the other side a few steps further and activate the switch you find there. This will restore power to the security door.

Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

Continue through the tunnel until you reach another room with an unpowered security door. To restore power to this door, find a power cell...

...and insert it into the slot located on the other side of the room.

Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

Follow the path forward until you reach a room where you'll come across several guard turrets and a relatively powerful battle robot. You can kill them normally, but you can also use "a trick" to get rid of them, as long as you are able to hack the devices at advanced level and of course you have the right Digipicks.

After entering this room, turn left and run towards the closed passage and then turn right and run through the passage that is there.

Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

You will reach a room in which you will find the Emergency Turret Control terminal. Hack it and use it to reprogram the turrets to defend the current user and then they will destroy the robot.

Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

There is also a power switch in the same room, which you must activate to restore power to the door you must pass through to reach your next objective.

Find Information about the Prototype Grav Drive

Open the previously closed passage and go down the ramp located on the other side. At the bottom, you will find another NASA Research computer. Read the logs: "Access Station Logs" > "December 8, 2141".

11. Find Information about Grav Drive Side Effects

Go through the door next to the computer and go straight ahead to reach the staircase. When you get there you will enter an area with zero gravity. Go down one level.

Find Information about Grav Drive Side Effects

Then follow the path to the central room. Go all the way down and go through the red door.

Find Information about Grav Drive Side Effects

Go forward and go through the door on the right, you will reach a large shaft. Move up one floor.

Find Information about Grav Drive Side Effects

Go through the door on the right, and after a while you will reach another NASA Research computer. Chest "Access Station Logs" > "September 8, 2160".

12. Release the Artifact

The original Grav Drive was based around an Artifact. The Artifact is still here, connected to the prototype Grav Drive.

Interact with the big red button on the table to release the artifact. When you do this normal gravity will return.

Release the Artifact

Also take the NASA Maintenance Key lying right next to it on the table.

Release the Artifact

13. Take the Artifact

You need to return to the main room. The maintenance key will allow you to open some doors.

Take the Artifact

Approach the cylindrical capsule and take the artifact.

Take the Artifact

14. Leave NASA

I have the Artifact from Earth, but the Emissary and Hunter have arrived on the surface and want to talk.

You have to backtrack through the complex now while fighting Starborn. A good solution is to follow the path shown by the scanner.

Leave NASA

When you pass the ramp it will lead you to a security door that cannot be opened due to lack of power.

Leave NASA

By following the wires lying on the ground you will reach the cell and the slot, which will allow you to restore power.

Leave NASA

Continue following the path indicated by the scanner through the corridors. At the end of one of them you should notice a red emergency cuttable wall. The path will point to a nearby door, but you should use a cutter or other laser and cut 4 yellow pins. The wall will fall down and a passage will be created.

Leave NASA

In the large room you reach, climb the stairs to reach the door located at the top of the stairs.

Leave NASA

Follow the path ahead, and eventually you will reach the elevator you got here at the very beginning. Take the elevator back to the surface.

Leave NASA

15. Talk to the Emissary

Step down from the launch tower and approach both Starborn waiting for you in the desert.

Talk to the Emissary

Both will offer you cooperation. Your decision will have an impact later in the game. If you choose one of them then you will fight the second one in the final location, with the help of the one you chose. If you choose neither of them, you will fight both of them, which is the most difficult option.

Talk to the Emissary

When you make your choice then you will receive 4500 XP and 9000 Credits. If you choose a Hunter as an ally then you will receive an additional mission from him - "Infinity's End".

16. Complete "Final Glimpses"

Complete "Final Glimpses"

I need to gather any remaining Artifacts that Constellation has uncovered. Once I have them, the Starborn will be waiting at the Buried Temple.

If you have not already done so then you must complete the quest "Final Glimpses".

17. Quest completed!

The Emissary and the Hunter have demanded I choose sides in their war over the Artifacts. There will be a battle at a place called the Buried Temple.

After completing Unearthed you will get or will be able to get Revelation (1 of 2).
