The Alters Guide is primarily an interactive map designed to help players navigate the hostile alien planet we explore in the game. It covers all areas that can be explored in the prologue and main acts of the game, marking key locations such as deposits of various types of resources, collectible items, places to climb, rock & energy barriers, dangerous anomalies, and other interesting points of interest.

The Alters is a science fiction survival game in which you play as Jan Dolski, a lone survivor stranded after a space expedition crash-lands on a hostile planet. In successive story chapters, you explore a variety of dangerous planetary zones, each presenting unique environmental challenges and containing resources essential for survival. From scorching deserts to toxic, storm-ravaged landscapes, each chapter requires strategic base-building and resource management to outpace the deadly sun.
Using Rapidium, you create Alters - alternate versions of yourself shaped by different life paths - that help you navigate the alien world. The branching storyline delves into identity and choices, with the conditions on each planet shaping your Alters' roles and the moral dilemmas you face during your mission to escape.
