Entangled Starfield Mission
Group: Main Missions
This mission begins automatically as soon as you receive the distress signal from the satellite at the end of mission "Final Glimpses". You must complete this mission to also complete the mission "Final Glimpses".
I picked up a distress signal from the facility where the Artifact should be. I need to investigate.
Prior missions
To begin Entangled you must first complete Final Glimpses.
Objectives of Entangled
1. Investigate the distress signal
Land at the Nishina Research Station.
Approach the intercom located next to the front door of the station building.
2. Enter Nishina Research Station / Speak to Ethan
I need to speak to the Director of Nishina Research Station about the Artifact and the distress signal.
Go inside through the main door and wait a while for Ethan to open the next security door. When he does, approach him and he will propose to take you to the Director.
3. Follow Ethan / Explore the ruins
Follow Ethan. At some point, as you are going through the Storage Room something strange will happen...
...and you will move to another, very strange place, looking like some alternate version of the storage room. You will be there alone, without Ethan.
I need to find out where I am and what just happened.
Move forward. You will be attacked by two alien creatures.
When you kill one of them then you will be transferred back to Ethan who will be very surprised by what happened. You will talk for a while and when you are done talking then continue to follow him.
I need to speak to the Director of Nishina Research Station about what's happening here.
Keep following Ethan. When you reach the next room, you will be warped to alternate version again.
4. Speak to Rafael
Walk a little bit forward and Rafael will come out from behind the table. This is the man who sent the distress signal. Talk to him until you are warped back to Ethan.
5. Follow Ethan / Find the Director's Office
Follow Ethan. He'll tell you where the director's office is located and a moment later you'll be transported to an alternate reality again.
I need to get to the Director's office in the other universe.
Move forward, turn right and then go up the stairs to the upper level. On the way you will be attacked by a few alien creatures. When you reach the top floor you will be warped back to Ethan again.
6. Follow Ethan / Speak to Director Patel
I need to speak to the Director of Nishina Research Station about what's happening here.
Follow Ethan. This time you will be able to reach the Director's office.
Talk to Director Patel and Maria Hughes about what is going on. Eventually you will come to the conclusion that you should shut down the experiment that is underway and you are supposed to help with it.
7. Follow Maria / Get to the lab
I need to follow Maria to her lab.
Follow Maria. When you leave the office then after a while there will be another shift to an alternate reality.
I need to find a way through the facility to Maria's lab.
Turn away from where you were facing and follow the path, dealing with alien creatures along the way. Go through the Emergency room and the go to the level below through a hole in the floor. You will meet Rafael there.
8. Speak to Rafael
Once again you will talk to Rafael. He will give you the key to the pantry, which will allow you to go through the locked door located in the same room.
9. Get to the lab / Speak to Rafael
Enter the pantry, kill the alien creature and follow the path ahead.
After a while you will switch again, which will scare some scientists.
Keep walking and after a while there will be another switch. Enter the room where there are three alien creatures. When you kill them then you will be able to talk to Rafael again.
Enter the room marked with a marker and you will switch again.
10. Speak to Ethan
You will appear in the security room and Ethan will be standing right next to you. Talk to him and tell him what you are planning and he will help you by opening some door. You can also ask him about scorpions and try to persuade him to give you something to fight them with. If you succeed then you will receive a rare shotgun - Experiment A-7.
11. Get to the Lab / Speak to Maria
I need to work with Maria to find a way to control the shifting.
Head towards the Main Hall. There you will once again return to the destroyed world. So you will have the chance to test the weapon you acquired from Ethan.
When you pass the room with a large number of alien creatures then you will once again return to reality and be able to talk to Maria.
12. Assist Maria / Stand in the distortion
Wait for Maria to adjust the equipment, and when she asks you to stand in the distortion that appeared in the lab, do it. After a while, another universe switch will take place.
13. Find a Probe Control Unit
I need to find a Probe Control Unit and use it to shift back to the other universe.
Take the Probe Control Unit from a nearby desk.
14. Recalibrate the distortion
Approach the distortion and recalibrate it. Once you do that you will be back in the real world.
15. Speak to Maria
I need to tell Maria what happened in the other universe.
Talk to Maria again to inform her of what happened and get information on what you should do now.
16. Speak to Director Patel
I need to tell the Director we found a way to control the shifting.
17. (Optional) Get supplies
Head to the clinic and talk to Dr. Tatiana Barakova. She will give you 4 MedPacks. She can also heal you for 500 Credits.
18. Take the elevator
I need to take the elevator down to the Research Level.
Approach the distortion near the elevator and calibrate it to switch to the destroyed universe. Then take the elevator to the Nishina Research Level.
19. Get to the lab
I need to make my way to the High Energy Research Lab.
When you get down then approach the distortion located near the elevator and calibrate it to move back to the normal world.
20. Override the lockdown in the Facilities Section
Approach the distortion next to the master locked door and calibrate it to switch to the destroyed universe.
Find the Nishina Particle Lab Keycard.
Use the distortion to return to the normal universe. Open the door and try to quickly destroy the security camera. If you manage to do so, neither the turret nor the two combat robots will have time to activate. If you are not fast enough and are spotted then you will have to fight them.
Go through the door in front and go down the ramp to the lower level. There you will come across another security camera and a turret.
Calibrate the distortion located in the room on the right.
Find another distortion in the destroyed universe and use it to switch back to the normal world.
Quickly approach the computer and interact with it. Use it to disable the lockdown: "Security System" > "Override Lockdown: Facilities Section". You can also use it to disable alarm, the robot and the turret in this area.
21. Get to the lab
Follow the path through the now unlocked doors into the next area.
22. Override the lockdown in the Accelerator Section
Walk down the corridor, go down the stairs and enter the large room. Destroy two security cameras, guard turrets and robots that will attack you.
Calibrate the distortion located on the higher level, next to the door described as "Accelerator Robotics".
When you move to the destroyed world, kill the alien creatures and go through the open passage. Soon you should find another keycard - Nishina Utility Closet Keycard.
Return to the main room and then use any of the distortions to switch to the normal world and find the door marked as "Utility Closet" on the other side.
Use the distortion in the utility closet to switch to the destroyed universe. Walk into the room beside and use another distortion to switch back to the normal universe. Watch out for the security camera and turret located in the room. Approach the Accelerator Mainframe Computer and interact with it. Use it to partially disable the lockdown - unlock the door to the Accelerator Control room.
Switching between universes, return to the main room. Stay in the normal world, kill the robots that will attack you and find the entrance to the Accelerator Control room.
Use the computer to remove the lockdown the lockdown in the Accelerator Section.
23. Get to the lab
Get back to the main room and find the entrance to the Access Tunnel. Enter this room.
When you get there then switch to the destroyed world and continue through the cave...
...until you reach the next distortion, the one located on the rock shelf above. Switch back to the normal world.
Find another distortion and use it...
...and then another passage through the cave will open next to it.
Continuing forward you will eventually reach another distortion. When you use it you will end up in the Storage section.
24. Override the lockdown in the Storage Section
Interact with the Storage Room Computer: "Security System" > "Override Lockdown: Storage Section". The computer is located right next to where you appeared.
25. Get to the lab
Leave the room and proceed further. Watch out for security robots and turrets. Climb the ramp and after a while you should reach the anomaly located near the metal staircase.
Use it to switch to the destroyed world and go through the door on the upper level.
Keep walking forward and after a while you will reach the lab.
26. Disengage Power Interlocks (0/7) OR Switch Universes
I need to disengage the Power Interlocks so I can shut down the experiment.
You need to interact with 7 marked switches. You can do this in both normal and destroyed universes. There are some anomalies in the room that will allow you to change the universe. In the destroyed world you will be disturbed by alien creatures and in the normal world it will be robots and turrets.
Note: The switches in both universes are separate from each other so it's best to switch immediately to the world you want to stay in at the end.
27. Shut down the Probe
Interact with the Emergency Shutdown Control but before you do that, decide if you definitely want to stay in the world you are currently in.
Note: Which world you choose to stay in will affect who you can talk to and the rewards you receive for completing the mission.
28. Take the Artifact
I need to take the Artifact.
29. Speak to Director Patel
This opportunity will occur when you decided to stay in the normal world.
I should report back to the Director.
Rewards: 800 XP, 11800 Credits, Incendiary Experimental Nishina Spacesuit (Legendary), Reactive Experimental Nishina Helmet (Legendary).
30. Speak to Rafael
This opportunity will occur when you decided to stay in the destroyed universe.
I need to speak to Rafael.
Rewards: 800 XP, 9000 Credits, Comm Relay (2), Indicite Wafer, Vytinium (4), Tasine (5), Rafael will follow you back to your ship, and is later a recruitable companion at Viewport in New Atlantis.
31. Quest completed!
I recovered the Artifact from Nishina Research Station.
