Group: Main Missions

This is one of the three main missions that you will be able to play after completing the main mission "The Old Neighborhood".

Prior missions

To begin Back to Vectera you must first complete The Old Neighborhood.

Objectives of Back to Vectera

1. Return to Vectera

Argos Extractors is packing up operations on Vectera, but there's no word about Barrett. I need to go there and find out what happened.

Return to the moon where you started the game - Narion System > Anselon > Vectera > Argos Extractors Mining Outpost.

2. Talk to Lin

Talk to Lin who is waiting for you near the landing pad and you will find out what happened.

3. Fix the Comms Computer / (Optional) Obtain 3 Power Cells

Barrett is gone, captured by pirates. My only hope is that there might be some clue on where they went on the broken computer in the comms building.

To fix the computer you will need to restore power. For this you will need three Emergency Power Cells. There are more of them in the base than you need. Moreover, when you try to run the computer and select the "Look for a Power Source" option, it will mark more places where you can get power cells, for example, Lin will give you one, you will get another one from the robot, etc.

You will find two power cells outdoor:

Another two are located in the same building as the computer.

In the same building as the computer you will also find the "Trackers Primer 05" magazine...

...and Heller's cutter.

When you get three cells then to restore power you have to insert them into three wall slots located near the room where the computer is.

The computer itself is located in a room behind a locked door (Novice Lock). So you need to have the digipicks to get in.

4. Find a Clue to Barrett's Location

To get a clue interact with the computer and read the "Emergency Transmission" entry.

5. Return to Lin

I found a transmission from Barrett! Lin needs to hear about this.

Return to Lin and inform her of what you have learned. Based on the data acquired, Lin will determine the coordinates of the place you should go to.

6. (Optional) Recruit Lin as Crew

Before you hit the road, you can recruit Lin to join your crew.

7. Travel to Altair IV-b

I have the coordinates that should take me to the pirate ship that captured Barrett and Heller.

Note: The planet / moon you will have to go to is random so it may not necessarily be the same as the one used in this description.

Head to the desired planet / moon and land at the location marked as Crashed Ship.

8. Find Barrett and Heller / Talk to Heller

The crashed ship is quite a distance from where you landed. When you get there you will only find Heller sitting on the ground next to the ship. You will talk to him and find out what happened and where Barret is.

9. (Optional) Recruit Heller as Crew

You can invite Heller to join your crew.

10. Listen to "Emergency Transmission 02"

Heller survived, but Barrett has been captured by the Crimson Fleet again. I need to find him.

Open up your inventory, go to notes and listen to the "Emergency Transmission 02" audio log.

11. Travel to Bessel III

Travel to the Bessel System > Bessel III. Land at the location marked as Ransacked Research Outpost.

12. Rescue Barrett

There are some opponents in the outpost. Get rid of them and go inside through the marked door.

Inside the building you will find Barret and pirate captain - Matsura talking to each other. Matsura will ask for a ransom of 4,000 credits for Barret's release.

Matsura, the pirate captain, is willing to let Barrett go in exchange for a ransom. I need to figure out a way to free Barrett.

You can, of course, pay or kill Matsura and his bodyguards but you can also try to persuade him to release Barrett without a ransom.

Before you leave the place don't forget to pick up the Kryx's Journal Entry 01.

13. Return to the Lodge / Enter the Library / Wait for Barrett

Barrett is free. I should take him back to the Lodge.

14. Talk to Barrett

To finish this mission talk to Barrett one more time. The rewards are: 350 XP, 7200 Credits, Barrett available as your companion.

Barrett is back at the Lodge safe and sound. He's offered to join me on my travels in the future.
