To start this mission you need to find and talk to Evelyn Miller. You will find him sitting on a hill when you reach the second part of the game epilogue. John meets Evelyn Miller, a writer hero of Dutch's, and finds him disillusioned and lost.
When some time passes, you will be able to visit Evelyn in his cabin in Tall Trees. You'll talk for a while and then Evelyn will ask you to go with him because he wants to show you something.
Evelyn Miller takes John to confront some trappers who have been over-hunting Tall Trees forest.
Follow Evelyn until you come across a deer caught in a trap.
Evelyn will ask you to release the animal, so do it.
Get on your horse and keep going after Evelyn. Eventually you will reach the hunting camp. There are three hunters there.
Evelyn will be knocked out by them, and you'll have to do the same with them.
When you deal with all your opponents, Evelyn will wake up and leave, and this part of the mission will be finished.
A day later, you'll be able to visit Evelyn again. He is busy writing and doesn't want to leave the cabin or eat and drink until his work is completed.
Evelyn Miller has locked himself inside his cabin in order to finish his writing.
Put some food under the door and come back in a while to do it again.
The next time you visit Miller's cabin, you will not get any response and you will feel a terrible smell. John will kick in the door and go inside where he'll find Miller's body.
The writer's last will is to burn his body.
John discovers Miller's corpse, sat at his writing table, pen in hand. A final request remains.
Set fire to the curtains and leave the cabin.
