Prerequisites: To play this mission, you must first complete the mission Bare Knuckle Friendships.
To begin this mission, go to the Blackwater saloon and talk to Sadie. She will ask you to help her recover a bounty named Shane Finely who was stolen from her by her rival, James Langton.
John meets Sadie in Blackwater. Sadie asks John to help her recover a bounty named Shane Finely who was taken from her by a professional rival, James Langton.

Get on your horse and follow Sadie. During the journey, John will tell Sadie that he has found Charles and will also invite her to visit his ranch.
You'll finally reach a hill with a view of Armadillo.
Come up to the edge and use your binoculars or a rifle scope. Start surveying the area around the town.
After a while, a few riders will leave the town. These are the people you are looking for. They will head towards the nearby canyon.
Go back to your horse and ride with Sadie along the canyon. You will follow your targets from above as they move through the canyon.
Eventually, the people you're following will stop and so will you. Get off your horse and walk up to Sadie.
You have to decide how you want to deal with Langton's boys. You can choose to sneak, threaten the gang or shoot the gang. Sadie will suggest you sneak around, but you should decide to start shooting. This is the fastest way to get to Shane Finley, and one of the requirements for a gold medal in this mission is that once you have made your decision you need to get to him and escape with him in no more than five minutes.
Kill all of Langton's boys who are at the bottom of the canyon where they're guarding tied up Shane.
Start running to the right to the nearest road leading down into the canyon. A few more Langton boys will run towards you along the way.
Start going down to the bottom of the canyon.
Watch out for the enemies who'll shoot at you from the ridge.
A few more will come from the other side. There will also be two more on the ridge.
When you get to the bottom of the canyon, a few riders will arrive.
Pick up Shane Finley from the ground, place him on the horse, get on the horse and follow Sadie towards the canyon exit.
You will be attacked by Langton's boys along the way. If you want to earn the gold medal, you have to kill them all. The first two of them will run to the bridge in front of you.
Three more will stand a little further on the ridge on the right side of the canyon.
Three riders will go down to the canyon from the left side of the canyon.
Not much further away on the ridge of the canyon there will be four others, one on the left side and three more on the right side. These will be the hardest to score, you'll have to turn back to shoot them.
The last three riders will go down to the canyon using a road on the left side of the canyon.
Moments later, you'll reach the end of the canyon.
Ride back to Blackwater with Sadie. If Sadie asks you to hit Shane, you can do it if you like.
When you reach the sheriff's office in Blackwater, get Shane off the horse and take him to the cell.
John and Sadie will share the prize ($200 for you) and the mission will end.
After completing this mission, you will be able to play the mission The Tool Box.
