This tale will be unlocked when you complete "The Walls of Yarikawa" main tale. You and Yuna are going to find the missing archers and thus prove your good intentions.
Yarikawa Stronghold is under Mongol siege, and their best archers have gone missing. Yuna and I can return them safely home, they can aid the town's defense - and we will prove our good intentions.
I will meet Yuna in Old Yarikawa to begin the search.

To begin The Coward of Yarikawa you must first complete The Walls of Yarikawa.
Quest stages of The Coward of Yarikawa
1. Meet Yuna in Old Yarikawa
Yuna will be waiting for you in Old Yarikawa. Taka will want to join you, which his sister won't like, but in the end he will manage to convince you to let him do that.
Yarikawa Stronghold is under Mongol siege, and their best archers have gone missing. Yuna, Taka, and I need to find these archers and ensure their safe return.
2. Look around for signs of the archers / Examine the dead Mongols
Start by examining the bodies of Mongols lying literally two steps away. They were killed by the skilled archers.
3. Search for tracks / Follow the unknown tracks
Then find the footprints nearby and follow them.
They'll take you near one of the houses in the village.
4. Search the house for the archers / Save Taka from the bear
When you get close to the house, a bear will pop up from inside and attack you. You have to kill it.
When you get rid of the animal, go inside and examine the goza mats...
...and other items indicating that the house was occupied by the archers. When you do that, Yuna will call for you to come to her because she found something.
5. Speak with Yuna
Yuna will be waiting for you near the extinguished but still warm camp fire. A warm fireplace means the archers must be close by.
6. Search near the camp fire
Examine the barrels of explosives that someone apparently has stolen from the Mongols...
...and then the footprints by the path that leads to the west.
7. Follow the tracks / Approach the archers
Follow the tracks and after a while you should see some sneaking archers.
Approach them and talk to them. You will learn that some of them have been caught by the Mongols and those who haven't been captured want to rescue them now.
8. Survey the Mongol camp
Survey the camp and you will notice that the Mongols are preparing to transport the prisoners to another place. You will propose to use the stolen explosives and set up an ambush in the village where the convoy will have to pass through. Your plan will be accepted.
9. Speak with Taka / Trigger the ambush at the right time / Defeat the Mongols
Twilight will come and you will move to the village where the ambush has been prepared. While waiting for the convoy to arrive, you and Taka will talk a bit about whether everyone feels fear, etc. After a while the convoy should arrive. Wait for the convoy to get close to an explosive barrel and then shoot the barrel with the bow.
Finish the other opponents in any way you want. The suggested way will of course be to stay on the roof and eliminate enemies with a bow, especially since there are a lot of arrows around you. Watch out for the reinforcements that will arrive.
10. Speak with Daikoku
When the fight is over, talk to Daikoku, who will promise you that he will try to convince Ujimasa to accept your offer.
Then you will exchange a few words with Yuna, who will be a little angry with you becouse her brother was close to dying. This quest will end and you will automatically be transferred to Yarikawa Stronghold.
After completing The Coward of Yarikawa you will get or will be able to get The Ghost of Yarikawa.
