This is one of the quests you have to complete to get the materials needed to complete the "Forging a Bond" quest.
Ivaldi requires the root of a mountain to forge the magical cord, Gleipnir.

Cradled in rock,
At Asgard's highest height,
A seed sleeps in Ymir's cold grip.
Warm it awake, bring it to water,
For old bone to sprout with new life.
Go to the highest mountain, there is Beinahruga highpoint there. From the top you should see the seed.
Jump down and use a torch to set fire to the hay in which the seed lies.
Then pick up the seed and throw it into the pond below.
Jump down and take the root. This will finish this quest.
