This quest starts automatically after completing the "Scenes From a Marriage" quest.

Having completed all of Olgierd von Everec's wishes, Geralt went to the Alchemy Inn, where he was to meet with the ataman's representative...

To begin Whatsoever a Man Soweth… you must first complete Scenes From a Marriage.

Quest stages of Whatsoever a Man Soweth…

1. Meet Olgierd's man at the Alchemy Inn.

Go to meet Olgierd's man who should be waiting for you at the inn in Oxenfurt. When you arrive there, you will find O'Dimm, who will demonstrate to you his abilities by stopping time. He will tell you that the last task you have to do is to bring Olgierd to the Temple of Lilvani and then he will leave.

Then you will talk to Olgierd's man and tell him to tell Olgierd to come to the temple. Before you leave, he will tell you that Shani was looking for you.

2. (Optional) Talk to Shani at her home.

Note: Talking to Shani and then to the professor you will learn something that will unlock an additional possibility during the final confrontation with O'Dimm.

If you go to Shani, she will tell you what she found out about Olgierd. Shani will tell you about the professor you should talk to.

3. (Optional) Follow Shani to the Academy.

Go with Shani to the academy. The guards will only let your friend in. You'll have to find another way to get there.

4. (Optional) Enter the Academy grounds.

Go down to the river, kill the drowners and approach the walls.

When dusk comes, Shani will drop a rope for you.

5. (Optional) Enter Professor Shakeslock's house.

First, get rid of some witch hunters. The door to the professor's house is locked so you have to find another way. Climb a ladder on the scaffolding and jump on the balcony of the professor's house.

Use the aard sign to destroy the door and get inside.

Go down the stairs to the ground floor of the house, where you will meet professor. He will tell you everything he knows about Olgierd and Master Mirror.

With Shani's help, Geralt managed to enter the Academy grounds and speak to a Professor Shakeslock, who had earlier helped Olgierd in his attempts to break the pact with Master Mirror. The professor revealed that O'Dimm could be cheated – one needed only propose a wager, and, as an inveterate gambler, he was ligely to agree to take one up on it.

6. Meet Olgierd at the Temple of Lilvani.

Go to the temple. You will reach it by passing through a side tunnel in a nearby cave. When dusk falls, you will meet Olgierd there, and after a while O'Dimm will join you. Gaunter will want to take Olgierd's soul from him, and unless you have talked to the professor, he will. He will also do it if you have talked to the professor but decided not to intervene.

If you let Master Mirror take Olgierd's soul, then when he does, he will remove the mark from your face and let you choose one of the rewards for your help. Then this quest will end.

Rewards:

  • Wanna be as swift as the wind. - Caparison of Lament saddle (100 Stamina).
  • Never wanna go hungry again. - Horn of Plenty (40HP + 25HP recovery during combat).
  • A bottle of vodka that's always full. - Bottomless carafe ("Provides an endless supply of hard alcohol. The spirit is distilled from scorpion tails.").
  • Make me rich. - 5000 crowns.
  • Don't want anything from you.

Geralt decided not to dispute the arrangement between Gaunter O'Dimm and Olgierd. The pact was fulfilled, and Olgierd's life came to an end.

7. (Optional) Find the solution to Master Mirror's riddle.

If you talked to the professor and he told you how to outsmart O'Dimm, then you can intervene. O'Dimm will accept your offer and teleport you to a place where you will have to solve his riddle.

Master Mirror's riddle

To all things and men I appertain, and yet by some am shunned and disdained.

Fondle and ogle me, till you're insane, but no blow can harm me, cause me pain.

Children delight in me, elders take fright, fair maids rejoice and spin.

Cry, and I weep, yawn, and I sleep, smile, and I shall grin.

You need to find where O'Dimm is hiding and you have limited time for this. You can run straight to the house where O'Dimm is hiding, but it is worth visiting two other places before you do so. In the first one you will find the Viper venomous silver sword (Witcher gear) and in the second one you will find some valuables.

When you get inside, you will see a mirror at the end of a long corridor. Before you move towards it, make sure you have at least half of your life bar.

The floor will collapse and you will fall into the next location. Ignore all mirrors and go towards the dry stone fountain in the courtyard, just behind one of the mirrors.

Use the aard sign to break the cracked wall and the fountain will fill with water.

Then you will look at your reflection and you will find O'Dimm. O'Dimm lost, so he will have to vanish.

When you return to the real world, you will talk to Olgierd. In gratitude for saving him, he will give you his sword - Iris (Relic Steel Sword).

Geralt took Professor Shakeslock's advice and proposed a wager to Master Mirror. Mirror agreed, but only if it was played out on his terms. He transported Geralt to a strange, dark world and made him solve a riddle. Geralt, who has always had a keen mind for such puzzles, soon found the solution and defeated Gaunter O'Dimm. Was this the last our world will ever see of him? No man can say...

What mattered most at the moment, however, was that Olgierd von Everec was safe, and the pact which had bound him had been dissolved.
