This quest will appear in your journal when travelling on one of the roads in Velen you come across Gert Borel, a man who has been pinned down by his wagon and who needs help.

Suggested level: -

On one of Velen's muddy roads Geralt came across an unfortunate soul trapped under his cart. The man had had an accident while hauling corpses of plague victims. The witcher decided to help him.

Quest stages of Hazardous Goods

1. Help the trapped man.

Kill three ghouls (4) attacking the man and then help him free from the trap.

Gorel will thank you for your help. He'll also tell you that he transports the victims of the plague because so far he has never gotten sick. Then you can go your way or tell him that his car needs to be burned.

Geralt helped the man right his cart. He also advised him to burn everything he was wearing and give his body a good scrubbing, yet the man brushed off this bit of sage counsel, claiming no contagion could touch him.

2. Help the man burn the bodies.

Use Igni sign to set fire to the cart.

3. Somewhat later.

Note: Regardless of what you told him, some time later you will be able to meet Gert again near the nekker nests between Reardon Manor and Benek. He wasn't as immune to disease as he claimed and caught the plague. He'll ask you to kill him. You can do it or refuse.

If you killed Gert:

Some time later Geralt met the cart driver again and discovered he was now in the last stages of a terminal illness. The man asked the witcher to put him out of his misery, and Geralt glumly agreed to do so.
