This quest begins when, during "The Firebrand" quest, you manage to obtain information from Mert or his corpse about where you can find Sara.
According to Mert, a girl named Sara is the contact for the manumits. However, she may have already been captured by soldiers at the rendezvous point in the nearby woods.

A cutscene will trigger - slightly different depending on whether it is day or night - which will end this quest and start the next one - Where Loyalty Lies. Reward: 1,000XP.
