In order to start this mission, you must first complete The Delights of Van Horn mission and then go to the Bacchus Bridge where John will be waiting for you next to the wagon with the dynamite.


You will put two crates of dynamite on the handcar and then you will jump on it to take the dynamite to the bridge.

John and Arthur plant dynamite on the Bacchus Bridge in order to create a distraction and disrupt the army's transportation.
Gold Medal Checklist
- Plant the dynamite within 1 minute 35 seconds
- Escape the oncoming train within 19 seconds
1. Move the handcar
To move the handcar hold down the button as Arthur pushes the bar down and release as he raises it. Not releasing in time will cause you to lose speed.

When you pass the ladder leading to the bottom level of the bridge then you'll stop the handcar.

2. Get the first (second) dynamite crate / Lower the crate down the side of the bridge
Grab the first crate of dynamite off the handcar, walk with it to the railing just to the right of the ladder and lower the crate down to John. Then return to the handcar and do the same with the second crate of dynamite.


3. Climb down the ladder
Then climb down the ladder.

4. Pick up some dynamite / Plant dynamite on the pillars
If you want to get the gold medal then you have 1 minute and 35 seconds to plant the dynamite on three pillars. Take some dynamite from the crate and plant it on the nearest pillar. Go back for another bundle of dynamite and plant it on the pillar that is a little further away. Come back for another bundle of dynamite again and place it on the pillar that is furthest away.


5. Return to the handcar / Flee the oncoming train
Run back to the ladder, climb back to the top of the bridge and run to the handcar. As soon as you're near it, get on it and press the button at the right time to make the car go as fast as possible. If you want to get the gold medal, it can take no more than 19 seconds to drive.

You and John will automatically jump off the handcar once it will be possible.

6. Follow John / Use plunger
Follow John to the detonator and use it to blow up the bridge.


After the bridge is blown up, Arthur and John will talk for a while. Arthur will suggest what John should do soon and John will mention the money that Dutch has stashed somewhere.
