The clue left behind by the giant cat mummy thief lead Indy to the Vatican. With political turmoil brewing in the Holy City and Fascist Blackshirts are patrolling the streets, Father Antonio Morello, an old friend of Indy's, was willing to help him get in and solve the mystery.
Objectives:
- Enter Castel Sant'Angelo - Antonio, an old friend, is waiting by the Passetto di Borgo, "the village steps", which is on the far side of Castel Sant'Angelo. There is no entrance from this side, but where there's a whip, there's a way.

Next adventure: The Race is On.
Objectives (continued):
- Get to the Inner Courtyard - It seems calm enough here. Better take the time and see if there is anything useful here before moving on.
- Reach the top of the Castello - There's a way to the top of the Castello from here, but the courtyard is crawling with Blackshirt Fascists. It would be wise to steer clear of them, but then again - no harm in knocking out some Fascists.
- Get to Passetto di Borgo - The Passetto di Borgo is west of the Castello, it runs from Bastione San Marco straight into the Vatican.
- Get to Antonio - This is it. Antonio should be waiting on the other end of the Passetto di Borgo.
- Eavesdrop on Conversation - Some people are having a clandestine conversation in the passage above.
- Enter the Vatican - Antonio will show the way into the Vatican through the Passetto di Borgo.
- Talk to Antonio - Who was the giant burglar, and where did the cat mummy end up? Perhaps Antonio can help bring clarity to the mystery?
- Put on Disguise - Now when there are Blackshirts all over the Vatican, a disguise will be crucial to avoid attracting unwanted attention. Antonio has picked out a clerical suit that should fit.
- Search for the Symbol - Antonio said he has seen the symbol from the giant thief's pendant somewhere in the Vatican Library's Conservation Workshop.
- Explore the Secret Passage - The giant's pendant opened a secret passage leading down into the darkness beneath the Conservation Workshop, just waiting to be explored.
- Talk to Antonio - The mad priest may have been on to something after all. There must be a way to collect evidence concerning these inscriptions.

- Earn Money to Buy Camera (379 Lire) - Antonio wants to see photographic evidence of Father Crescenzo's inscriptions. Ernesto in the Vatican Post Office has a camera, but he won't part from it cheaply. Maybe there's some rewarding fieldwork to do.
- Buy the Camera from Ernesto
- Collect Photographs of Inscriptions x 4 - Antonio wanted to see evidence of the inscriptions on Crescenzo's map. Four photographs should be enough to convince him.
- Return to Antonio - Antonio is in his office, waiting to see the photographs of the inscriptions.
- Study photos on table - That should be enough photos. Time to head over to Antonio and study them together. Maybe he can help shed some light on the mystery.
- Enter the Tower of Nicholas V - Crescenzo's inscriptions pointed to the Tower of Nicholas V, where a "gate to the underworld" is supposed to lead to the "tomb of the warrior giant".
- Find the Underworld Gate - Hidden somewhere in the Tower of Nicholas V is a door leading to the underworld. Supposedly it is guarded by a demon, whatever that means.
- Explore the Underworld - The mural depicting St. Michael fighting the demon turned out to be the key to unlock the secret door to the Underworld.
- Solve the Sacred Wounds Puzzle - A large mural depicts Jesus on the cross. Crescenzo's inscriptions said "to enter the underworld one needs the blood of the Five Sacred Wounds". Good thing Antonio sent along a bottle of "the Blood of Christ."
- Find the Warrior Giant's Tomb - The mural of Jesus revealed another passage. Hopefully it leads to the so-called \"tomb of the warrior giant.
- Search the Tomb - The centerpiece of the tomb is a large sarcophagus fit for a giant. Crescenzo's inscriptions pointed here. Whatever is buried inside has been kept secret for many centuries.
- Find a Way Out - The Blackshirt's bulldozer caused the tomb to collapse. There's no way knowing what way is out now, but surely there must be some path through this maze of tunnels.
- Exit the Necropolis - The Blackshirts have found their way down here drawn by the ruckus of the bulldozer crash. That means there has to be a way back out.
- Exit the Catacombs - The air feels less stagnant here. That must mean this is the right direction.
- Climb up the Hole - The bulldozer opened up a big hole where it crashed down into the Giant Mausoleum. Looks like the onlys way out.
- Follow the Nun - A suspicious looking nun is lockpicking her way into places where she's most likely not allowed to be. What is she up to?
- Bring the Parchment to Antonio - The parchment from the warrior giant's sarcophagus pointed to something called "the sacred monastery of the Nephilim order." The parchment should be handed over to Antonio for him to take care of.
- Investigate the Fountain - According to the parchment, the Fountain of Confession contains a hidden entrance to the sacred monastery of the Nephilim order.

- Finish Forging the Gold Key - Hot gold ran from the forge into the mold in the courtyard. It needs to be cooled down before it can be picked up.

- Search for the Cat Mummy - The Vatican Treasury of Esoteric Artifacts holds an amazing collection of priceless items, each one more stunning than the next. The stolen cat mummy must be somewhere among these shelves.

- Check on Locus - Locus is down and out. Better check on his condition.
- Get to the Airship - Voss and his men are taking off with the thirteen of the stones from the Great Circle found in the Vatican. The airship anchored to the dome of the Basilica is waiting to take them to Gizeh, Egypt.
- Catch the Airship - The airship is about to take off for Gizeh, with Voss and the stones already on the ship.
Summary: With help from Father Antonio Morello, and Gina Lombardi, an Italian journalist, Indy found the cat mummy. It turned out to contain a stone of "The Great Circle" and had been taken by "The Nephilim Order", an ancient group of giants who had gathered artifacts containing stones for centuries. However, the Nazi archaeologist Emmerich Voss stole the stones and left for Gizeh, Egypt.
