Ancient Magic Hotspots

Interact with the Ancient Magic Hotspot to spawn three "energy bubbles" somewhere nearby. To complete the challenge collect all bubbles. Note the bright light beams that appear right after activating the hotspot. They lead to the bubbles making it easier to figure out where they are.

Arithmancy Doors

The Arithmancy Doors are distinctive-looking doors that you will be able to open when you solve the puzzle assigned to them. As well as the door, you also need to locate two dials marked as "?" and "??" which in most cases should be somewhere very close to the door. In order to unlock the door, you must set the correct animal symbols on both dials. When they are the right symbols then the door will open when you try to do so.

Astronomy Tables

A total of 15 astronomy tables are available in the game. You will be able to use them after completing the main quest "Astronomy Class". As with the Demiguise Moon Statues, this will only be possible during the night. To solve this kind of puzzle you have to move the telescope until the blue outline of the constellation matches the bright stars on the sky.

Balloon Sets

There are a total of 32 Sets of Balloons in Hogwarts Legacy. You can start getting Balloon Sets after unlocking the flying broom, which means you must complete the "Flying Class" main quest. Each balloon set consists of 5 balloons. To complete the set you must pop all five balloons. To pop the balloon you simply need to fly through it.

Bandit Camps

Bandit Camps are places controlled by bandits. Depending on the number of enemies you encounter here, you can classify small or medium bandit camps and bandit camp castles. Collection Chests that can be found in bandit camps contain recipes that allow you to create new traits.

Battle Arenas

Battle Arenas in Hogwarts Legacy are special combat challenge areas where you can fight waves of enemies in increasing difficulty to test your combat skills and earn rewards like XP and unique cosmetics. Completing them counts toward achievements like "Rise to the Challenges" for the two standard arenas.

Beast Dens

Magical beasts found in Beast Dens throughout the Highlands can be rescued and then nurtured in the Room of Requirement once you unlock the nab-sack.

Broom Racing Events

Broom Racing Events in Hogwarts Legacy are timed flying challenges where you take your broom and race through a preset course in the open world to beat a target time.

Butterflies

Butterflies are an additional activity available in Hogwarts Legacy, through which you can get access to 15 chests containing conjuration items. First you need to find a group of butterflies flying in the air and get close to them. They are not very well visible, but when you get close enough you should notice their icon on the mini map.

Creature Lairs

In Hogwarts Legacy, Creature Lairs are specific points of interest on the world map where certain hostile creatures or monsters naturally spawn. Players can visit these lairs to engage in repeated combat with these creatures, as they reappear over time. Creature Lairs serve primarily as combat hotspots.

Daedalian Keys & House Tokens

Daedalian Keys will appear only after starting the quest "The Daedalian Keys". These are small keys floating in the air. There are a total of 16 of them and all of them are located in Hogwarts Castle. When you approach one of them, it will start flying towards the corresponding House Cabinet, which should be somewhere nearby. Follow it, interact with the cabinet and slap the key when it hovers over the lock. When you do so, the cabinet will open and you will receive a House Token that you can throw into the chest located in the common room of your house. Once you throw in all 16 house tokens you will receive a unique outfit for your house.

In total, not including those from the quest, 30 Demiguise Moon Statues can be found in Hogwarts Legacy, 9 of which are located in the village of Hogsmeade.

Dungeons

Dungeons are instanced underground or enclosed areas you can explore outside of the open-world map. They're designed as self-contained challenges with puzzles, enemies, and loot.

Eye Chests

Eye Chests can be opened after learning the Disillusionment spell which turns you invisible. If you want, then you can also use the Invisibility Potion. Approach the chest without being seen by it to open it. Each eye chest will give you a total of 500 gold galleons.

Floo Flames

Unlocked Floo Flames act as fast travel points. To unlock a Floo Flame, simply walk near it. There are 86 Floo Flames in total, but you can only unlock 83 because four Floo Flames are located in the common rooms of each house, one in each, and depending on which house you have selected, you will only have access to one of them.

Hamlets

In Hogwarts Legacy, Hamlets are small villages or settlements scattered around the Highlands outside Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.

Hedge Mazes

Hedge Mazes are one of the challenges awaiting the player in Hogwarts Legacy. While the locations in which this challenge can appear are fixed, whether it will be available at any given time in that location seems to be random. If the challenge is available then you should see a large arch-shaped gate made of vegetation at the location. There will also be a marker on the minimap.

Hogwarts Secrets

Hogwarts Secrets are slightly more complex puzzles you may come across while exploring the castle. There are three of them in total. When you solve them you will get access to rooms with interesting loot. To be able to complete them you will first need to learn the appropriate spells, etc.

Infamous foes are formidable and wily enemies. There are 21 of them in total.

Landing Platforms

Landing Platforms are small circular platforms, generally placed somewhere high up. There are a total of 20 such locations in Hogwarts Legacy. You can start collecting them after purchasing a flying broom, which happens after completing the "Flying Class" quest. In order to complete these platforms, you simply have to fly to them and land on them.

Legendary Chests

Legendary chests are large chests, with few exceptions mostly located in hard-to-reach places where you are sure to find a piece of legendary gear.

Locks

In Hogwarts Legacy, locks are magical barriers on doors and chests that block access to certain areas or loot. They are marked with a lock icon and come in three difficulty levels: I, II, and III.

Merlin Trials

There are a total of 95 Merlin Trials in the Hogwarts Legacy. All of them can be found in the Highlands. They are simple puzzles that in most cases require the use of one of the spells you can learn to achieve a certain goal. To unlock Merlin Trials you must complete the main quest "Trials of Merlin".

Moths

Moths play a "supporting role". They appear when their corresponding Lumos Frame has beed activated. Bring the moth back to the frame to acquire the Field Guide Page hidden in the frame.

In Hogwarts Legacy, the open world is divided into Regions. These are large geographical zones of the Scottish Highlands that help organize exploration, quests, and map progression.

Side Quests

In Hogwarts Legacy, side quests are optional missions separate from the main story that you can complete at your own pace. They are usually given by NPCs in Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, or hamlets.

Traits (Collection Chests), The Highlands

Traits are special attributes that may be applied to gear once the Loom is unlocked in the Room of Requirement. 50 Traits can be found in collection chests at Bandit Camps throughout the Highlands.
