2. Prove your skills in battle to Kurt
Fighting against Kurt in the courtyard is nothing more than a simple tutorial to help you learn the basics of fighting, etc.
After the tutorial, Kurt will become your first companion. He will leave you alone for a while so you can go and say goodbye to your mother.
3. Go and say goodbye to your mother
Go to the room where your sick mother is staying.
At the end of the conversation, your mother will give you a family heirloom for good luck.
4. Meet Kurt in front of the palace
When you leave your mother, you will get to the street in front of the palace gate. Go to Kurt standing nearby and talk to him.
Together you will set your plans for the near future. Kurt will inform you about an additional task to complete and a new quest will appear in your journal - Coin Guard merchandise.
5. Notify the Bridge Alliance ambassador about your departure
Go to the Bridge Alliance Embassy and talk to Ambassador Sahin.
The ambassador will ask you for a favor and you will recive a new side quest - The charlatan.
6. Notify the Thélème ambassador about your departure
Go to the Thélème Embassy and talk to Cardinal Antonius.
He will ask you for a favor and you will recive a new side quest - Heretic hunt.
7. Present yourself to Captain Vasco
Go to the port and talk to Captain Vasco. Constantin is missing and he is probably in the tavern.
8. Discover where to find Constantin
Go to the Tavern and ask the inkeeper about Constantin.
Inkeeper won't give you any information until you've compensated him for the damage caused by the fight started by Constantin. You can pay him or fix a broken table.
8.1. Compensate the innkeeper for the damage Constantin caused
You can pay 25 gold coins.
8.2. Repair the damage caused by Constantin
You're gonna need 4 Metal dowels to fix the broken table.
Two metal dowels can be found in the barrel standing under the stairs.
Two more metal dowels can be found in the chest in the storeroom which is located on the ground floor of the tavern.
The storeroom is locked and in order to open its door you need to have a proper skill (Lockpick 1) or you have to find the right key. The key is located on a table in the hallway on the top floor of the tavern.
Another way to get two metal dowels is to buy them from a merchant outside the tavern. They are relatively cheap, 3 gold coins each.
When you satisfy the innkeeper, he will tell you where you can find the dwelling of the bandits Constantin has messed with.
Go to the location suggested by the innkeeper. When you get there, you'll hear Constantin's voice coming from nearby buildings.
9. Free Constantin
If you have the right skills (Level 1 Science and Alchemical preparation or elemental damage), you can destroy the barricaded passageway and get to the building through the basement.
Otherwise you have to use the front door, where you will meet a few guards guards.
- Attempt to negotiate. - You'll find out what they want for releasing Constantin.
- Order the liberation of Constantin. - The fight will begin. When you kill them, in the corpse of one of the bandits you will find the key to open the room where Constantin is located.
When you try to negotiate:
- (Intuition 1) Say that Constantin is the Prince's son. - The bandits will get scared and give you a key to open the room where Constantin is locked up.
- Negotiate a ransom. - They want 50 gold coins as a ransom for Constantin's release.
You can also sneak to the door and go inside without being noticed by the guards.
Once you get inside the building, go to the top floor. Constantin is kept in a locked room.
The right skill (Lockpicking 1) or the Key to Constantin's cell that you can find on the table in the neighboring room will allow you to open the door and get inside.
11. Tell the captain that you're ready to raise the anchor
Leave the house. If you got here without being noticed by the guards and you don't want to meet them on the way out, go down to the basement, unblock the door leading out and get out of the building this way.
Go back to port, talk to the captain and ask permission to come aboard.
12. Get on board Captain Vasco's boat
Follow the captain.
When you get close to one of the ships in the port, a giant monster will escape from its hold and you will have to fight it.
After killing the beast, there is nothing left to prevent you from boarding the ship and setting sail to New Serene.
After completing The great departure you will get or will be able to get Old countries in a new world and The Battle of the Red Spears.
