Quest stages of The Way of the Bow
1. Meet Ishikawa at his dojo in Hiyoshi
When you're ready, go back to Ishikawa's dojo and speak with him. You will talk about how you should prepare for the attack and he will also tell you that Tomoe wants to destroy Hiyoshi Springs because she wants to humiliate him in this way. Your conversation will be interrupted by a sudden Mongol attack.
Sensei lshikawa and I learned that his traitorous former student, Tomoe, is leading an attack on Hiyoshi Springs. We need to save the town from annihilation.
2. Defeat the Mongols / Speak with Ishikawa
Beat the attackers and then talk to Ishikawa.
You will come to the conclusion that it was just a diversion and that the attack on Hiyoshi Springs is about to begin so you should find a good position to defend yourself as soon as possible.
3. Follow Ishikawa / Speak with the peasants
Run after Ishikawa down the hill towards the village. At some point you will meet two women from the village on your way. You will talk to them and tell them that they should warn others and find shelter.
4. Follow Ishikawa / Survey the battlefield
A little further you'll get to the place Ishikawa considers good to defend. Survey the battlefield and to find things that can be exploited to your advantage - hornets' nest, explosive barrels or dry grass.
Ishikawa will also give you flaming arrows, which you can use from now on.
5. Defeat the Mongols / Speak with Ishikawa
After a while the attack will start and the opponents will be coming from the north. Try to eliminate as many as you can using a bow, setting fire to the grass, shooting barrels or directly at your opponents. Those who manage to get close to you, you should kill with your sword.

You will be able to play the next tale related to Ishikawa and his student when you finish the first act of the game and you reach Toyotama.
