Secret at the Church

This quest begins right after Crowcaller decides to flee following your first fight - making it the follow-up quest to "Bloodwind".

1. Gather information at the orphanage

Try to open the door of one of the houses in the Demeniss Orphanage. This will initiate a cutscene in which Abbess Marina - whom you will meet in this house - will provide you with valuable information and give you the Church Crypt Key.

2. Obtain the church's relic

The crypt is located on the south side of the church. You can open the entrance door with the key the nun gave you. Go inside and climb down the ladder.

The crypt is small and contains a small stone pillar with a strongbox. Approach it and try to open it.

To open it, you will have to solve a simple puzzle. Press the tiles in the order shown in the screenshot below.

1. Press top left plate
2. Press bottom right plate
3. Press top right plate
4. Press bottom left plate

Once you do this, all the tiles will light up, the strongbox will be unlocked, and you will be able to take a small box from inside that contains the Dagger of Radiance.

3. Activate the Pillar of Radiance

Return to the location where this quest began and approach the stone pillar/altar surrounded by a railing - this is the Pillar of Radiance. Approach it, use your lamp, and aim at the slot on its front. Insert the Dagger of Radiance into that slot.

Once you do this, the pillar will rise from the ground, revealing a small disc - meaning another puzzle awaits you.

You must rotate the disc fragments so that they form an eye symbol, as shown in the screenshot below. When a fragment is correctly positioned, a distinct sparkling effect should appear. Correctly aligning the symbol will activate the pillar.

Once the Pillar of Radiance is activated, the nearby Spire of Soaring will become active - and the journey to this location will be the objective of the next quest that begins - "Toward the Nest".
