The Path of Warriors Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Quest

Location: Skellige

This quest can be started in two ways. You can overhear the conversation of two women in the Uriala Harbor village and then, when you talk to one of them, they will direct you to Gunnar. Or you can talk directly to Gunnar, who you will find in the northwestern part of the island.

During his stay in Skellige Geralt learned of something called the Path of Warriors. This was an obstacle-strewn route locals believed each self-respecting warrior must travel. Geralt knew if he managed to traverse the infamously-difficult Path he would earn respect and recognition throughout the isles.

Quest stages of The Path of Warriors

1. Talk to the man who oversees the Path.

Talk to Gunnar. He will tell you that the Path of Warriors consists of two parts. First you need to reach the top of the mountain and retrieve the token there, then you have to enter the cave and retrieve something at the end of it. Once you have both tokens, you must bring them to him.

2. Reach the start of the Path. / Collect proof you made it to the top of the peak.

Approach the starting point and continue on along the path that leads to the top of the mountain. Along the way you will come across some sirens (13) and harpies that you will have to get rid of. Be careful not to fall down when fighting them. There will be a lot of jumping on the way to the top.

At some point you will reach a place where you cannot jump to the other side. Slide down and continue along the road that will take you near the entrance to the ruined castle.

There you will be able to climb the walls and return to the path leading to the top. The further road will be relatively straight.

When you get to the top, take the Trial of Dexterity completion token from the pole located there.

3. Descend down to the cave entrance.

Take the other path down and then slide down the slope of the mountain.

That way, you'll get close to the cave entrance - Path of Warriors Cave (Start).

4. Travel through the tunnel and collect proof you made it to the end.

In a cave you have to swim a relatively long distance under water so if you have a Killer Whale potion it is best to use it now.

About halfway there, you'll be able to emerge and get some air. You can even climb up there but you'll only find two gargoyles, so keep swimming.

Eventually you will reach almost the very end of the tunnel where you will find a sunken crate with the Path of Warriors completion token inside.

5. Reach the end of the tunnel. / Leave the caverns and talk to the man who oversees the Path.

Swim forward and you'll be able to get out of the water after a while. Keep going forward. You'll have to climb a little bit and jump over the crack, and after a while you'll reach the exit from the cave - Path of Warriors Cave (Exit). When you get out of the cave, you'll come across three bandits (14-16) you'll have to kill.

Then go back to Gunnar and show him the tokens. He'll congratulate you, and you will get some items from him: Diagram: Assault gauntlets, Mag Deira cuirass, Sewant mushrooms x 5, and Hardened leather x 2.

The witcher overcame all the obstacles along the Path and made it to the end. From then on, even the proudest Skellige warriors would treat him with respect.
